Of all my lights, the one I like most for having a floody beam as well as a definitive hot spot, has to be my Fenix PD35R. Check out some videos on that one.

Do you think the E35R or PD35R has more of a wide spill?

Funny, I have both! I'm pretty sure the E35R has more spill. I'll check them out together in a couple hours when its dark and see if I can get any good pictures

Thank you very much. Some videos I’m watched show a nice beam and other not so much. Probably camera differences. The only thing about the E35R is the magnetic tail. I don’t have a use for that.

Will have to wait until tomorrow, I've got a dark area at work I venture down to and get some shots for you. Bit of a snowstorm going on outside right now, that will probably make it more difficult. The E35R definitely doesn't have anything that resembles a beam though. It's all flood, besides from very close distances. See below.

I was able to get these for now. This is only around 8ft from the wall. But gives you a idea.

This is the PD35R, on Medium. Tight hot spot with a defined edge for the outter spill



This is the E35R, also on Medium. Much less pronounced hot spot and wasn't able to capture the entire range of spill in such a small room.



In a more open area, or more distance the hot spot on the E35R isn't nearly as noticeable where the hot spot on the PD35R reaches 353 meters I believe?

I've been on an Olight kick lately, just got the new ArkPro Ultra and it was bundled with a free i3E EOS which is a little keychain light, and I was so impressed with it I also ordered a i1R 2 Pro which is another small keychain light. The ArkPro is a big improvement over their Arkfeld Ultra, I really like that it finally has USB-C charging.

I got an Olight Oclip Ultra this Christmas and also gifted one. The size factor is amazing. A wide range of modes, Spot, Flood, and UV on a selector. Magnetic and clip mounting options. Tail standing and head standing.

In general it’s just a great brand. I was close to getting an Arc and will do that next :)

The magnetic tail cap has pretty much become a mandatory flashlight feature that I didn't know I can't live without. I use it all the time when messing with my cars. I even have a little "steel sticker" plate from a magnetic car phone mount that I stuck on my desk that I stand the light up on I'm not using it.

I use an Olight i5T EOS most days because it’s so small and convenient. All my kids call every flashlight they see an Olight

Bought one when they first dropped. Absolutely love the size and how adjustable the light is. Clips to a hat, last days camping and has taken a few dunks into water.

I have two and they are nice but heat up quickly . I use them for short periods in garage and in truck . Dan

I recently picked up the Sofrin SC33 and a Fenix 36R Pro. I like both for different reasons. The Sofrin has a nice wide beam and the Fenix has a nice spot and spill at 350 lumens and can run for some time. What I find interesting is that the Sofrin doesn’t get nearly as hot on turbo as the Fenix does.

I've noticed my Fenix flashlights on turbo do get warmer than my Olight, Wurrkkos or Sofirns. Odd they hold the turbo longer before stepping down, yet get warmer quicker

I haven't read up on this thread in fear that I might buy something I need.
Take my chances on posting and hope I'm still able to circle the rabbit hole.

Most days I use my Sofirn HS10 due to the convenient charging, but today it was the Sofirn HS05 that guided me safely to work.
