Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
Received mine yesterday and it is the most perfect Spyderco I've ever received. It had a very strong detent initially (which has loosened up nicely with a little handling), but is absolutely the smoothest opening spydie I've ever handled. Free faller with zero lock stick, solid lockup, laser sharp out of the box, perfect centering, and dead even grinds. Can't wait to use this thing. I'll hopefully get pics up this evening.
Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
Thanks for the tip! It's not too bad in the sense that it takes a ton of pressure to close, just an audible clicking noise and a little friction when the lock disengages. Maybe I'm just spoiled because both of the M4's I had made zero noise and there was no friction when disengaging the lock.Surfingringo wrote:Hi Ejames, I've had a number of pm2's and I have had a couple that arrived with sticky locks. Both of them became buttery smooth after a few days of carry (and a lot of opening/closing/fondling  :D). I've never seen one stay sticky so if that's the only issue I wouldn't worry.ejames13 wrote:Well, guess I'm striking out with this run. Received my second one today and lock stick is almost as bad as the first. Lame. Not sure if I'm pickier than others, or if everyone else really is receiving examples with perfect action.

Yea I read your earlier post about the detent ball falling out! That's pretty crazy. At least your other one is in good shape!Bdubs808 wrote:I received one that does not stay closed. There is zero detent, and it is 100% not usable. I will send it in to warranty, so I'm not super bummed because I know there is a solution. It sucks that you got some sticky locks, though at least the knives are functional. :)ejames13 wrote:Well, guess I'm striking out with this run. Anyway, I have a 2nd specimen and I just installed a Lynch clip. Very cool, looks and function. Loosened pivot very slightly, added one drop of lube, voila. PM2 greatness in my favorite color.

Compared to some Ti since the color is close.

Compared to other Para2s.

Compared to some other grey knives.

Yeah, the two of mine that I referenced were the same. A bit of stick and a bit of click when they would disengage. It worked itself out on both in less than a week and they are now both as smooth as any others.ejames13 wrote:Thanks for the tip! All the Para2s are tip down too. :D Why would it be interesting to see them mounted the correct way?ejames13 wrote:Nice pics! Interesting to see tip down on the Delica and Stretch.bearfacedkiller wrote:Compared to some Ti since the color is close.

I actually prefer tip down on my Para2's as well. Just uncommon to see the FRN models that way. I generally like however they come from the factory.bearfacedkiller wrote:All the Para2s are tip down too. :D Why would it be interesting to see them mounted the correct way.ejames13 wrote:Nice pics! I prefer tip down and if it was up to me they would all come that way.

Its crazy how nice the reports of some of these are, Id say only just now are all the kinks getting worked out of the new golden expansion.Wright.88 wrote:Received mine yesterday and it is the most perfect Spyderco I've ever received. Mine really is fantastic.

DLT Trading has them at MAP.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
I ended up getting a 2nd. And it is even better than the first. This is quickly becoming my favorite sprint/exclusive. It has character.
Just my opinion, but the blurple S110v seems to lack character to me. The steel seems "cold", even though it is high quality. Like a BMW for example (yeah, I said it).

Thx guys, got one.
Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
How is the g10 texture? More room rough like the s11v model?
Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
Got a second one incoming. My Knifecenter preorder actually went through. I ordered so late (three days after preorder opening) that I didn't bother to cancel once I scored one from another dealer thinking that there was no chance. I guess that enough people ahead of me canceled their preorders after getting theirs elsewhere. As long as the wife doesn't find out, I'll be ok :D

The exact same thing happen to me on this one and with the 52100 Millie. Luckily for me my dad collects to, so it's usually pretty easy to get him to buy the extra off of me.FCM415 wrote:Got a second one incoming. My Knifecenter preorder actually went through.
