What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
This guy's turn in the food-prep rotation. Impressions: delightful to hold, slices like crazy, not enough blade length (for food prep), one of the best ever in-pocket. No surprises here.

That's something I like about the H1 saber ground Pacifics. I don't mind doing some light prying and other abusive tasks with them. I left the edge and tip slightly thicker on this one because it's a dedicated work knife and will get banged around from time to time.Wartstein wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 10:32 amvivi wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 10:12 amNope, exact same blade length. Wanted a slightly pointier tip on this Pacific but I didn't want to strip all the coating off the spine by doing by usual skinny tip mod.u.w. wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 6:40 am(for whatever reason, my way old dell notebook is letting me see everyones photos again, after months of not)
Very Nice!
Still plenty "stabby" (lol, that term always makes me laugh), while having a more robust tip than straightening it all the way out...
Did you loose any blade length?
u.w.
My (H1) Pac Salt often serves as a "do it all" tool, more than any of my other folders. So digging, prying, stabbing ... is among the tasks I use it for, and so particularly on this knife I especially like the more robust, sheepsfooty "orgininal" tip.
But if I ever get an H1 Pac Salt in plain edge,I´ll probably try what you did here, Vivi (not with an SE tip though, I think)
Blade shape is working good so far.

Here's another view. Tried to make it flat and line up with the corner of the hollow grind.

Old pic, same knife. Used it today to break down several large double thick shipping boxes into very small pieces. Not one bit of loss in sharpness. Stropped it a few times just for good measure, now it’s treetopping sharp. The sharpest I’ve ever been able to get a knife before. Gotta love Rex 45!

Lol it appears so. Actually the Autonomy is one of the only finger grooved handles I've ever had that actually fits my fingers, I really love it.

I also carry the Rex 45 Manix LW today... and happen to still have that older pic with a similar theme as yours: This knife in the snowy woods...
