Nice model but I prefer the XL, or a Stretch XL / Pacific Salt VS the lightweight.Wartstein wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:33 amThe Meat man wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:12 amStill carrying the Manix LW Maxamet. I've been carrying it exclusively now for the past couple weeks or so, using it every day (mainly to cut cardboard and plastic pallet banding). Still slices paper well.
Three Manix 2 LW out of seven knives so far on this page (just a pic of yours is missing...).
For me -very subjectively of course - this IS a model "everybody should at least own one piece of" - and their should be a steel choice for everyone yet (except for those who want a true Salt), mine being REX 45 as can be seen in my previous post.
I got you.
If I could only have one I´d take one of the three you listed over the Manix 2 LW, no doubt. Mainly due to the plus in cutting edge.
The Manix 2 LW is more of a niche knife for me - a small folder, too small for general EDC, but just great at what it is and I really like to use it when I actually don´t need more edge.
One reason is the handle size: Like made for my hand, really "hugs" it, if my hand was just a tad larger, the grip area would be too short though, but so it is just right.
And I´ve said it before: It carries just so nicely. Light but pretty wide, a combo that makes it extremely stable and "unbouncy" even in "floppy" pockets. And thank god no deep carry clip, so it feels really short and small in pocket - the shape of the handle end helps with this too (perfect for sliding the hand by the knife)..

Again !
