It is one (that "mod") I tend to favor, and have done on a number of my own Spydercos; and you "knocked the ball out of the park", in my opinion.

was hoping to mail this one in today, instead it went into my pocket. Put a quick 260 grit edge on it, grinding off the more polished micro bevel it had. Gonna carry it over the weekend then get it sent in Monday hopefully.

You know it brother! I have found blood brings out a good patina on the old K390. Mostly from animals.
