Thanks for the additional photos! Amazing! Here’s one from our adventure. This photo is actually from last month but it’s the same spot we went to the other day. I think this photo turned out better than my more recent one anyway. Lighting is a little brighter.Wartstein wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:25 amThanks, mate!![]()
First and foremost: I´d certainly like to see the knife pic you took on your hike!
Then: It is really hard to mess up a photo at that great location.
Though my crappy cellphone camera always overexposes the background when I focus on the knife close to the lense knife. This is just how it is.
For once I may post two pics {EDIT: Click to enlarge] of that very special secret place without a knife, so you can see what it "really" looks like.
As said: It is extremely remote (for the standards of our alps) and hard to find.
To stay on topic the third pic will actually include the knife again...

Yep, definitely a better fit than the Yo2. Excited to put it to some use and get a better feel for it. The ergonomics are very different vs my Ronin 2.

/ The Seki Salts are just perfect lightweight, but still outperforming many other Spydies options!
Below my pretty capable lightweight mountaineering setup:
Salt ffg SE and LM Juice CS4 (don't underestimate the latter, especially the old, discontinued one).
More "serious"would be the LM Rebar and the Pac Salt 1 SE (H1) or my White River Backpacker Pro (fixed)
Superlight in my trailrunning pack: LM Squirt PS4 and again Salt 2 or Chap FRN...

Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

I might have to look into the LM squirt. I regularly carry a LM surge. Too bulky for hikes or runs. That might be a good solution!

I went to my local 9/11 memorial ceremony today.
I was proud to put this "Ground Zero" rescue in my pocket.

Deliberate bias toward a US inspired carry today.

It’s only the Sebenza and Hitch & Timber pocket slip that I know for sure are made in the US, but everything on the photo is somehow made, commissioned or designed by a US company, or descendant from a US design. Except maybe the norwegian 500 NOK bill, which it wouldn’t make much sense to replace with one portraying Mr. Benjamin.

Brought two along to see some iron mine ruins.

There is a dragonfly in this photo of what remains of an ore crusher. Yes, this proves I may never win the Spyderco calendar photo contest..

ran some trails, then headed over to a secret lakeside spot to make a fire and watch the sunset

Getting the Siren out to compare to the Yojumbo made me realize it had been months since I carried it.
