What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Last thing I did was open some packages that came in the mail from Flipbelt with my SE Pacific Salt, but this picture is more interesting
Usually prefer medium, felt like trying rare tonight.

We use that same stuff here at work. Use it as a divider/impact absorber between paper rolls when shipping them out.

Also used a Z-Cut in the kitchen just now. I feel like my food coma will get worse before it gets better. :-)

Same sort of use although it’s palletised general freight/groceries and alcohol.
Comes in handy and one reason I like a longer blade at work.

Used my new Manix2/Cruwear to cut the bands on bundles of bricks so we could stack them around a house.
Turns out no one else could cut the straps with their pocket knife. They swore the bands were metal......I just shook my head and laughed.
They were all amazed I was able to cut the straps and couldn't believe I was using my new Manix2 for such a thing.

Get it Chuck. I love seeing good sprints used.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I find myself in situations like this all the time, where I need to cut something that's just barely within reach, that I can't get good leverage on to make the cut, and this is where SE really starts to shine.
Forgive the horrible pic but this was such a tight spot it's the best I could do to show what I was doing. I had to zip tie a hood shut on a truck, and then had to cut the zip tie later. It may look like I have a good angle to cut but this pic was taken with me holding the knife with two fingers off to the side just to show the edge on the zip tie, there was no way to make the cut this way. A hawkbill would have been great in this situation but serrations provide a similar grabbing action and make pull cutting something like this so much easier. Plain edge would have slipped off this heavy zip tie several times before cutting.
This is also another reason I like a longer blade. This would have been impossible even with a Delica, let alone a Dragonfly or smaller.
If you can't make out what you're looking at, that's a zip tie around the hood latch of a Ford Ranger. Autonomy 1 making the cut.

Who cares what I used it for last, check this out!
Little one made some wood shavings to start our fire. So proud! The deep guard helped inspire confidence. She practiced very safe knife skills with daddy help. Maybe it's time to let her pick her own?

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Good on you Vivi! I have a six year old grandkiddie who’s fascinated by knives and guns. When he comes round and it’s just him and me and his grandmother can’t hear him he asks to look at my rifles.
It’s funny too that the cheeky little bugger has great taste in knives. I laid out about forty odd folders and fixed blades that where close handy a while back and asked him which one he liked most and he picked my Southfork. Ah, hahaha, ah, hahaha, ah, hahaha!
