Nothing groundbreaking , but I'm very happy with my Delica mods

Grey FRN scales
Hap40 blade
Satin finish clip from a Kahr
Blue Ti anodized screws .
The color combination of this is just superb and its hard to capture on camera .

I'm not sure, but may ask them at some point.
I have a factory second Kahr Delica that I took the clip off of and put on my Breeden.

OK

After a couple of hours of Stonewashing some Delica clips here is the results .

In this pic you can see Three clips , all are the same , but finished differently .

1 - Standard black painted clip ( scratches easily , looks secondhand after 14 minutes of initial carry time ). :)

2 - Standard painted clip that has been polished to 1200 grit wet&dry sandpaper ( looks very classy , but also very shiny ) .

3 - Standard clip that has been sanded , but then Stonewashed for a couple of hours ( very nice nice Matt finish , darker and less obvious / more discrete ),
Total success in my view .

4 - Not shown ( I have a second clip that is exactly the same as # 3 that I have soaking in Vinegar overnight to see if it darkens or Patina's )

My conclusion so far is " Total Success " and the only thing that could influence that for the better is the Vinegar experiment .

Do you have a tumbler for the stonewashing?

If you like playing around with clip finishes, you may like this one.

It started out with painting a clip with ceramic paint and baking it with the hopes of a Cerakote type finish, but it quickly scratched off really bad...
Image

So I stripped the paint off, only to notice that the inside of the bug stayed painted, so I left it that way and acid etched it with ferric chloride, which didn't remove the paint in the bug but did change it to a dark gray. That's usually where people decide to stonewash the etched finish, but I decided to let it wear naturally over time..
Image

And so, that clip has been swapped around onto my favorite EDC's over the years and the scratch pattern has evolved.

And it currently resides on my custom Manix 2.

Lanyard mod - simple loop with just a knot, or add a bead with knots. The pocket material keeps the paracord at the top of the clip. Easy to swap out, or remove at your whim. Keeps the lanyard paralell to the scales, vice intersecting it.

Is that reinforced hem in the bottom pic a pocket mod? (I've done some much more crudely than that  )
