Can't wait to get mine. They started hitting european dealers, so my friend should receive them soon.
I'll see how it cuts. If I don't like how it cuts :
- Trade with a friend that'll appreciate it more
- Regrind it myself (still flat, but thinner flat)

Whatever my choice is, someone will be happy :open-grin . I'm sure the action of regrinding such a knife would bring me more joy than simply using it. But i might have an issue :')
I cut up some cardboard for my recycling bin again yesterday. It did fine. I had a little time last night and was going to reprofile it but started watching a movie and went to bed after. Maybe I'll get to it later today. I expect it'll cut even better after reprofiling
That's good, I have plenty of slicers. I don't really see the need of having something too beefy but maybe the overall ergonomics and style will win me over !

PS : I own a chinook, so I might be a bit dishonest here lol.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I guess the radiused spine makes the blade stock appear to be thinner than it is. I didn't realize it's 4mm thick until I just looked at the specs. I would've sworn the Para 3 or GBs have thicker blades. I was wrong. The blade's not very tall either. So no wonder it's thick behind the edge. Doesn't really matter to me. I only use my pocket knives to cut non-food items. As I've mentioned, there''s been no issue cutting anything that needs cutting
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

I have #0137/2000. Total impulse purchase when I saw it in a dealer’s case locally yesterday! Had no idea there was so much hype around these until I started researching what I bought. I paid 25% off msrp.

This is my 8th Spyderco and the fit and finish and edge are as good as any I’ve owned. I finally understand what lock stick is - mine has it - but I’m hoping it will go away with use.

I love that Spyderco numbers the flash batch knives. I think the prospect of getting a cool serial number is something fun to chase, kind of like getting a rare trading card in a pack of cards.

Numbers like 0001/2000 or 2000/2000 would be super cool, in my opinion. So many other potential numbers too.

I wouldn’t necessarily attribute any monetary value to any specific number though. The value of any serial number is primarily, and probably exclusively, subjective.
The day I picked mine up at the SFO they had 4 on hand. The demo model was #1237. I asked if they had #1234, and we joked about something like #007. (Not enough digits.😉) I ended up with #0431, so they’re very random.
lol. I ended up with 429. what is sfo? apparently mine was purchased in golden.

SFO = Spyderco Factory Outlet. It’s the company store at Spyderco in Golden.

Got mine, noticed there was a scratch inside on the Ti. After an hour of cutting a bit with it and all I noticed that it was due to the flipper tab not being straigth. And to top it all off, the screw came in stripped so I won't try to see if I can set it back properly.

I'm gonna shoot an e-mail to Spyderco, maybe lionsteel has spare removable flipper tabs (and screw) they could send !
Just hope it's not coming from the tapped hole in the blade being offcenter

What I noticed (and the weird feeling while flipping it for the first time)

Other surprise after removing it (now it can't be screwed in anymore)

ETA : Well, no mail answered until July 11th, I'm going to contact lionSTEEL, you never know.

Yours is worse than mine. I have a tiny bit of damage on the screw, but it's still perfectly useable. I didn't worry about it because I'll never use it (absolutely not an excuse, just a reason).

The head of the clip screw on mine ended up shearing off just by putting a bit in it, though. The head was only held on by two of the lobes.

I emailed spyderco and they didn't have replacement parts at the time, but they ended up emailing me when they came in and sent me a replacement. It arrived a week or so ago.

Yeah, That screw has very little meat behind the torx print, since the bottom of it seems to already be inside the threads ! Seeing what happened to yours made me reconsider ever touching the clip screw.
But a one-time-use removable flipper tab is not good at all indeed !

I'm happy to learn you got a replacement part. All of my previous attempts to get replacements parts failed but it was for knives like the Mantra 1, Domino and Dice (the steel washers cupped over time), so since it's internal parts, I get it.
I contacter lionSTEEL too, just in case they are able to send me a spare flipper tab and screw. the threading in the blade is M2.5 so I took a very long screw and put it in without the tab just to see if the tapped hole was straigth : and it is !

Maybe the screw is the only defective part here, which is good to know.

I ended up just using a set of thick PB washers from Skiff in my Domino. Night and day difference. Great knife, now.

Good solution ! I strenghtened the detent on both my Domino and Dice and found the steel washers on my own (swapped the bearings, though). I'm sure PB washer action would be even better. I need to make a big order at Skiff one day, to equilibrate with the shipping cost :winking-tongue

Still no answer from lionSTEEL. And still a week before Spyderco can answer.
Can't bring myself to using it in the meantime, just in case !

ETA : Can't wait for their answer, I hope it is positive.

I just realized while handling my Spymyto that I love the feel of it in the closed position, but it just feels weird when open. Its hard to describe.

On another note, it took a while for me to figure out, but I had the flipper tab rubbing on the interior of the scale and the tab looked physically crooked. I took the flipper off and reinstalled it and it worked smoother than before and had no more rub. Whoever assembled my knife in Maniago attached the flipper tab in the reverse position and it doesn't fit correctly that way. I'm wondering how many knives were shipped this way? Anyway, it was a simple fix and I'm glad I have it.

Good question ! Mine was terribly crooked in either position, but since the screw was stripped from factory I wasn't able to tighten it down completely in the other position, so maybe that'd have solved it.

Looking at the document provided with the knife, they use a different position for the flipper tab than the one it is shipped in. Weird.

BTW, I got a positive response from Spyderco Customer Service. I should receive my flipper screw in a few weeks !

I got one of these as a gift for a family member. He really wanted one. It wasn't my style. However, he said his is missing a flipper removal tool and carbide tip. Are these supposed to come with a tool? Also, does anyone know what he's talking about with the tip? If I spent almost 300 bucks and got a knife with missing parts I'd like to know. Thanks!

Dear BaizuoBeGone:

The lionSTEEL Myto design includes the glass breaker and comes with a tool; the SpyMyto design eliminated the glass breaker and does not include a tool. They are purposely different.

Stay safe,

Mike
