Mine came today. It's nice, especially for the price. I'll need to loosen the clip a little but that's normal for me

Very similar to the Siren but I like the Goddard handle better, it’s slicier and lighter but it ain’t going in saltwater…easily spydie flicks and mine came super sharp…evenly ground on both sides
Thanks for the comparison. They look very, very similar. Looks like the goddard puts your hand a little bit further from the edge
It does but not much and choking up is really good…

Any chance of a Goddard with Nat Chief photo?

Ask, and ye shall receive! Thank you!
So the Goddard has about the same length handle as a Nat Chief and a little shorter blade, 3.7" to 4.0", though edge more similar at 3.4" to 3.5". Goddard is a little lighter at 2.9 oz cf the LW Nat Chief (seen in Reveal 13) at 3.1 oz.
The Goddard and the LW Nat Chief seem like rivals; both with thin, pointy blades, similar lengths and weights. Agree? Disagree?

Looking at the pictures above, I am happy to see the generously radiused scales on the Goddard (unlike the other two!)

Standard Spyderco affair... I just measured 1 of mine and got .0195-.020” BTE. So just like most delicas, enduras, etc. built for the masses! Okay with me

Appreciate you measuring! Not bad. Will slice well with an acute primary bevel and reasonably thin blade stock. I will admit i always hope for something closer to .015

Agree... It is quite remarkable that a 26+ year old model compares so well with a modern design. And out-compete it in some areas!
I like the more pronounced negative blade angle. I miss that on the Native Chief.

There very well may be some out there a little thinner. Might measure the other one at some point today just cuz curiosity.
Edit* measured both twice and a little more carefully and see .0185” at the heel up to about .022” close to the tip. Very typical spydie measurements here.

There's certainly some out there a little thicker. Mines closer to an average of .025" bte.
Edit: .021" where it meets the ricasso, .024" at the belly and .028" at the tip.
Of course, differences in our measuring techniques and calipers are just as likely as actually having different thicknesses. My factory edge is also super uneven; I suspect the bte measurements I got will even out after reprofiling.

I’m sure, there’s going to be some variation in production blades… i had a an original sage with a tip that was like one on a manix. It was actually kinda cool, like it just didn’t taper as much as all the other ones I’ve handled/owned/seen. Very robust. Kinda wish i had kept it looking back now…
*Edited my above post after measuring this a.m.*
