Well it definitely laid down a cool looking pattern. I've messed with some electro etching, but haven't got into self anodizing... Nice work though.

I recently picked up this as an upgrade for my tried and true n690 version. I found one that had been sitting on a shelf at a local store for a year.

I have a question about it: has anyone tested the hardness of this m390? I ask because lionsteel and fox seem to run their m390 on the softer side of things, and I think they produce these knives for spyderco.

How are people finding the heat treat on these? I know Spyderco is considered top notch for heat treatments.

It is a lovely specimen. I like the slightly thinner blade stock and it also seems to be thinner behind the edge than my original n690 model. They also addressed another criticism of the first version - that it didn't have chamfered edges. This thing is super-chamfered. Almost starting to look like a rounded off CRK near the tip of the spine.
