It's a 3 day sale (or supposed to be) - let's see what's left after the vultures get there - just think of all the people who normally camp, now add in your exclusive collectors, and sprint run chasers

I figured it would probably be a bit of a mess right off the bat. Maybe things will calm down a bit later on.

If not, ah well. I don't know that there's anything I really need.

I suppose I can send this to tech support, but thats too much work. ...from what I can tell, spydercos front end site is run on a single rackspace server, maybe shared, maybe not, but managed by plesk, and hosted on Wordpress. That means orders are being processed by a plugin, likely woocommerce, maybe shopify. The forum is either hosted somewhere else or their server has multiple IPs associated and they are using SNI. I cant tell what your database(s) are being run from cause I dont have that level of access, but I can tell you that we need to get them optimized. Happy to advise for free, but lets get some caching layers up guys, and maybe some scaling? Even a CDN would help, and that can be stood up today, and start absorbing some of this dynamic traffic to static assets to ease up on that single host.

If you guys have ANY interest, I am HAPPY to help you out. Would only have to scale once or twice a year right?? ...Not sure if there is a cost benefit there cause people are going to sit through the buffer and request overflows in any case, but just throwing it out there.

No shamans yet. Yojimbo is enticing, but I think I can hold out. Maybe a Millie? I don't own one yet, but I hate tip down.

These sales as of late have been like the whole "who can keep their hand on the car the longest" contests. Whoever refreshes the longest gets to check out when the site load gets down to a normal level.

Still better than some of the black friday gun websites sales went.

The problem most of these sites run into isn't the webpages it's the checkout system. The only way I've seen popular sales like this work is to allow people to reserve items in their cart and checkout later, it takes the load off the system so everyone isn't trying to panic checkout before they lose their items. That creates way more system load than just trying to see the site and sale items.

I'm having minimal problems loading pages, but can't even start to checkout without database or SQL failures.

I've added a Military of some sort to my cart five times now. The one time I got my cart to load it showed as empty. Had low expectations but hoped I could snag at least one knife.

Not much selection at this point, but I’d probably have a ronin and a chef’s knife in route if I could get them in my cart. I’ll keep checking in and hope they add something I really want.

Here's a fun idea - deal of the day style - not sure if that'd help, though - but if it's something less in demand, people will stop trying to spam
