Re: What are you listening to?
I was a headbanger for many years (while listening to many other genres too) . I still listen to some Maiden, Judas Priest, etc here and there but I just can't listen to extra loud regurgitating into a microphone. I guess I'm just getting old haha
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: What are you listening to?
Haha, yeaaaa... it's definitely not for everyone. Though I do enjoy some deep growls, believe it or not it actually takes a lot of practice for those guys to be able to do that! I've always enjoyed the fast paced music though. I'm 38 these days and wonder if I'll ever grow up when it comes to my music preference haha! I'm thinking not though
It's been my thing ever since I was 13 years old, it just makes me feel alive!

Re: What are you listening to?
I heard this song on my way into work this morning. I liked the music and beat to the song, thought the voice was rather interesting and had to look them up to get a visual of the guy...well, turns out it was a woman! Gives me 2010 vibes.

Re: What are you listening to?
Exactly 43 years ago today, on September 25, 1978, PSA Flight 182 crashed in a residential neighborhood in San Diego, CA. In total, 144 people lost their lives (including 7 on the ground). At that time, it was the worst air disaster in US history. I was in high school at the time, just starting 10th grade, and I recall seeing the smoke from the crash rising in the distance (just several miles away, actually) as we came out of class from an upstairs classroom. We hadn’t realized the scope of what we were seeing. I also seem to recall that day being so hot that school was dismissed early. And of course, the air disaster was all over the news.
The reason I’m posting these songs is simply because they were getting a lot of air play on the local pop music radio stations during that time period, and for whatever reason, every September 25th, these two songs in particular come to my mind. Not because the content of the songs have any connection to the crash, but simply because the time period coincides with the tragedy.

A couple of Elton John classics. I’d almost completely forgotten about the second song, I Feel Like A Bullet; I literally haven’t heard it since the ‘70s…

Re: What are you listening to?
I recently started listening to The Rise and Fall of the British Empire, a Great Courses lecture series. Very interesting so far!
I also just started listening to Talking Strongman, a podcast by Laurence Shahlaei (WSM fans will recognize the name.) Excellent podcast all about strength sports with an emphasis on strongman. He does interviews with a lot of legendary, world-class athletes such as Phil Pfister, Brian Shaw, Geoff Capes, Devon Larratt, and more.
When I'm not listening to those, I'm usually listening to one of the Daily Wire podcast hosts: most often, Matt Walsh.

I hadn’t heard this since 1975, when it played on the radio, and the first Jaws movie was in its original run in theaters. It sounds REALLY dated now, and probably wouldn’t make much sense to anyone who isn’t familiar with the ‘70s songs from that year.
