Been debating the Shaman or Bodacious and curious which you would buy at the current pricing at Dack’s.
$176 - Shaman SPY27 Cobalt Blue G10
$156 - Bodacious SV30 Black G10 Black DLC
These seem like very reasonable pricing to me and I’m torn.
Don’t really have a use case, just want to round out my collection with a heftier knife. SPY27 makes me lean Shaman but cheaper and thinner profile for carry factor making me also lean Bodacious. Help me choose brethren! :)

Between the two I think the Bodacious is the better knife. Not much difference between S30V and SPY27 in use. That said the stock scales on the Bodacious are not very good IMO and I'd really want to swap them off for AWT scales. The Shaman has much better stock scales, so if you think you'd rather not invest into aftermarket scales, I'd probably lean Shaman instead.

Are the AWT scales for the Bodacious also "skinny style" like a lot of their other designs I see? Man I really don't like aluminum/metal handles overall myself, not that I don't own nor use them on some designs, but wow I see a lot of the AWT stuff recently.

Anyone considering AWT aftermarket scales for the Bodacious might also consider Rockscale Designs. Theirs are titanium, in 2 different finishes and 3 different surface patterns. Full disclosure: I don't actually own said scales, but I have their Manix, PM2 and Military 2 scales on several knives and they are immaculate. Beautifully made and reasonably priced for how nice they are.
Edited to say they are full-profile, not skinny. (That was actually my main point, LOL. Evil D describes them in detail in another thread, I forget which...)

Yeah, they have a more neutral handle profile, but they are also contoured rather than just flat slab scales, so I feel like they are more natural in the hand than the stock scales (much for the same reason the Shaman does as well). But there are certainly other aftermarket scale options to consider; my main point is that the stock Bodacious scales are IMO some of the worst Spyderco offers, and while I like the overall design of the Bodacious more, I'd only take it over the Shaman if I were fine buying a set of new scales to swap into. Stock vs stock, I'd have to take the Shaman instead.

For a different opinion... I like the stock Bodacious scales and would not want rounded, Shaman- and or Kapara-style scales with the comp lock.

I'm sure it wouldn't work for everyone, but man, what if they could do the peel-ply texture on the contours of those scales. I think I'd like that myself. Might solve a lot of slip issues some people have with the comp-pinch and the compromised released grip situation...

Preach! Still won't stop until they CQI some decent chamfering into the Bod handles.

Peel-ply is a layer of fabric that is put down when doing composites layups that prevents the matrix from bonding to the mold. The resulting texture is an imprint of that fabric's weave. It isn't a texture that is machined in.

Sure, I never said anything about machining. It doesn't even have to be peel ply, but you should get the idea about the texture on the contours of the scales, that was the point, for usage of the knife.

White Mountain Knives has the Centofante 3 Carbon Fiber Handle Cru-Wear Blade on sale at the moment for $170 with the coupon CLOSE. Cruwear, Carbon, had to do it.
Looks like they're out of stock, that was a good price!
Indiana knives still has the Centofante III Cruwear for 199. Pretty decent.

I'm still waiting for mine to show up. USPS had it at my PO less than a mile from my house when suddenly they forwarded it to Alabama!!!

Slightly surprising actually.
I wasn't paying attention when they sold the first wave, whenever that was, but anyone remember if those sold out fast or not? Was it only the coated blades at that time?

Maybe not
crazy, but I don't recall seeing too many Lil' Temperances in K390 for under $150 (use coupon code GUNMEN10):
https://www.opticsplanet.com/spyderco-l ... ssion.html
Or $153.53 at National Knives (after login):

You can't go wrong with the spy 27 shaman I feel to be honest...it's a great steel it sharpens very nice and crisp and sticky if that makes any sense haha . It's also tough enough and corrosion resistant so you don't need to baby it . And the shaman is a great knife I have four myself so maybe I might be bias but come on THAT BLUE IS AWESOME
