It really hits a nice sweet spot between not being so thick that it can't slice but still being thick enough to be strong enough to use hard. It's sort of like it's at the lowest point of being overbuilt.

Catalog says 4.4oz, so it gained .15oz. My blade weighs some amount less than factory and the clip may also weigh something different from factory too since it's titanium as well. I like the designs that eliminate a liner because it really helps to offset some weight.

Dang maybe I've thinned my blade out more than I realized?
I'm betting that Rockscale changed their design a bit. They were first run and heavier than I anticipated for a liner delete. I sold them and figured I'd check out AWT next time as I've been impressed with their PM2 and Manix liner deletes.

The more I peep-in on this thread over the last year now, the more my interest slowly peaks for the Bodacious as a model. Whilst I do not (and most likely would not) like the price of this model, a Blue G-10/SPY27 variant would be a very temptatious purchase, in waiting for the Seki-SPY27ication to reach the market.

Hahaha! I just recall looking at all the scenarios when I was considering getting a pair for the Shaman. Their backspacer is aluminum for those curious.
If you want to get just a bit more weight savings, you can go to Knives Plus and buy a hardware kit. Replace the backspacer with standoffs to shave off a little more. You can also do this with AWT Scales.

I bought a Bodacious about two weeks ago. I also purchased a Military 2 and Sage 5 both with Cobalt Blue G-10 and Spy-27. The Bodacious is my favorite. I also have 2 Yojimbos, a Canis, and a Lil Temperance 3 with Black G-10 scales. I love the Compression Lock. I find it easy to use. It locks up solid with no blade play. I LOVE the Cobalt Blue G-10. I want to get a Native Chief. I would definitely buy another Bodacious with those materials. I don't hate finger choils. I mostly prefer not to have them. I do not like sharpening choils. I find they snag on most things. The Bodacious meets all my criteria. Very similar to the Lil Temperance just stretched and thinned out a bit. I am going to chamfer the handle with some sandpaper. I wanted to love the Shaman. I didn't like the thick, smooth handles. It felt slippery to me. I like the edge to come right down to the handle. Spyderco is my favorite brand. I've bought and sold more than I can remember. But I always come back. The Bodacious is a culmination of what I've learned that I like in a folding knife. I love the original Goddard, the Calypso 3.5, Renegade, and Native Chief. I think the Bodacious is just a result of CQI. Many of my favorite designs are from Sal. I met him years ago and he is a very nice man in person.

Thank you. I was a member here years ago. I got away from the hobby for a while. I will agree that I think I found "my" folder. I will probably get a full Spyderedge model as well. I haven't had a larger serrated knife in years. It's a fun hobby.

Do yourself a favor and get a large SE Spydie indeed! The Stretch XL in VG10 would be one of several great options for example.

A
serrated Bodacious might be the one that could push me over the edge and make me get one, despite being not the biggest fan of comp.locks in larger, more "hard use" folders.
Hope this thing will get a "toothy" variant...

Hope no longer my friend. It was announced with a serrated version for the Satin and DLC Blade. I was actually trying to wait for the serrated to come out for my first one, but there was a heavily discounted one in Plain Edge and I just couldn't wait any more.
