I am fully prepared too, just incase. :)

The last few things will be here soon that I need, just some extra things.
Just a general statement to everyone.

Every mask that is purchased is good for 5 to 10 years. Dry food depending on whose it is - is good for up to 25 years.

I have almost 200 - N95 masks(good for at least 1 day use), and 35 - P100 filters(good for 40 hours use ea). I'm waiting on full face masks for reusable filters, and I'll keep buying P100 filters until I have $1000 worth.

Plan on going out a lot?

I don't, if it hits I am staying put unless I have no other choice like if I run out of water and that is doubtful.

Nope, not really. But what I am prepping for is a 1918 Flu-like virus to happen again in my lifetime, and this may be it.

If this makes it around the globe, it may go around the globe more than once, like the 1918 Flu. Hopefully, it does not. I don't want to push my luck.

Most masks have been out of stock on Amazon for a few days. Hopefully, they start making more so that people can prep for it. If nothing happens, ALL GOOD!

OH, and I am buying for myself and my mother. If I have enough, I can help out my brother, his gf and her son.

All we can do is wait and see, the next few months will be interesting that's for sure.

I've been following a news source that I tend to have faith in their accuracy in the covering of this outbreak. They go by the name Tru News and their website is >> www.trunews.com << Apparently the actual numbers and percentages of how many victims there are in China and the USA as well as other countries differ depending on the news source I'm finding. I tend to agree with Ankerson that the spread of this Virus is more widespread than the mainstream news media is telling us here in the USA.

I used to regard the BBC out of London to be a decent source for international news but in the past 5 years I've kind of changed my mind about them too. In the age of the internet you would think that accurate news would be better accessed but the overseas news seems to be really skewed more than ever now. And I have no faith in the CDC ( Center For Disease Control). Most people don't realize that the CDC is not a government entity as many tend to believe.

I do welcome to hear about any other news sources covering this outbreak of the Chinese Corona Virus that might be trustworthy.

I'm not working right now so I scour the Internet for related stories, scrape them, and add them to a file to review later. I've done the same thing for a few other outbreaks. I use Google News for scouring the news regarding the outbreak. Open Google News, and then at the bottom of a relevant info block, you can expand to see related stories.

For YouTube subscribe to the US Marine Corps, Mayo Clinic, WHO, CIDRAP and Med Cram. There are more but those are very good and all have released videos on the subject.

I visit the following websites daily: CIDRAP, WHO, CDC.

For daily infection rates I use the following two sites. I look at the numbers in the morning and update them once at 8PM CST.

Uh, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention comprise a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services. I'll refrain from commenting on your disinformation except to say that if TruNews is your source, I am not at all surprised.

Hey thanks Naperville :) I'm sure you're more on top of it than I am. But do check out that Tru News website because I've been getting good updates from them the past two days. I do have a problem with the WHO ( World Health Organization) that you listed because I've found them to have conflicting information in the past>> but in all fairness I haven't checked them in a long time so maybe they might be all right now.

I was really blown away when I found out through a good friend of mine that the CDC ( Centers For Disease Control) out of Atlanta GA is not at all a government organization. I had been told different in the past. But the USA mainstream news media has just gotten to be a joke in my humble opinion in the past 10 years or so.

I have heard that the Mayo Clinic you listed is a reputable organization. I will check out some of these you've shared with us. Thank you for keeping us informed :)

IS that not correct? Because the person that told me that is a D.O. Doctor physician. Maybe they are what is known as a "quasi government entity similar to the Federal Reserve and other organizations that work in conjunction with the government"???

Wikipedia is just a few keystrokes away: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centers_f ... Prevention.

But perhaps you doubt the facts to be found in Wikipedia?

If, however, you understand the correction process that makes Wikipedia what it is, you might also check: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Wiles.

With all due respect I've found Wikipedia grossly wrong on several items I've looked at. Now I will admit that it's getting better than what it used to be but I still double check everything I would read on Wikipedia. The D.O. Doctor that told me that had worked in the Pathology field and in two other areas of medicine. I am going to talk to him this weekend and see where he got his information.

There is a lot of Tin Foil Hat stuff floating around on the Internet lately. A lot of wanting to grab their 15 mins of fame spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories. This BIO Weapon conspiracy theory is likely the biggest BS one yet a long with the other one about the 250K + infected.... China being what it is and a lot of people don't trust the GOV these things aren't really a hard sell. So these types are capitalizing on them all they can....;)

It's best to stick with the CDC and WHO sites for information on the Corona Virus.

And these for daily:

https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps ... 7b48e9ecf6

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

No need to freak out and panic.

Do prepare and be aware though.

It is likely worse than they are saying it is, but for now all we can do is go by the confirmed numbers.

And be prepared. ;)

Uhhhhh.... Wikipedia is OK for info but the best resource are the people and corporations that have a dog in the fight.

Wikipedia for instance does NOT allow persons listed in the document to maintain and edit their own BIOs. Wikipedia is a left wing wet dream, and they slander anyone to the right of Stalin.

Correct it then. That's what open-source is all about.

In any case, I'm not suggesting Wikipedia should be anyone's sole source. I use it as a smoke test. That's why I just cited the Rand link above.

The CDC is 100% a United States Federal Government agency. I would be very suspicious of a Doctor of Osteopathy who claimed otherwise. I mean, what else is he telling you?
