Unfortunately the Chiefs haven't had a "Search & Destroy" type defensive player since both Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith were both on our roster. At the same time no less  But I am encouraged that this new Defensive coordinator has made some notable improvements. At least our defense is giving an effort this year  Now if we could snag the next Derrick Thomas or Lawrence Taylor I think then we would be virtually unstoppable with Mahomes at the helm :cool:MacLaren wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 4:13 pmCool JD.JD Spydo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:24 amThe latest platter chatter I've heard on Sports Radio here in KC that I've heard concerning Jalen Ramsey is that they are interested but not at a horrible expense. I'm doubtful myself because Andy along with the front office just doesn't chase free agents like some of these other teams do. They got Clark and Mathieu in the off season so I would personally be a little surprised if they did. The rumor mill isn't all that hot on any trade for him at this time. They are most worried about getting back Tyreek Hill and Eric Fischer from the injured list really soon more than anything else I've heard.MacLaren wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:08 amThat's a solid bet.Mushroom wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:04 am
Even though he would help any defense he’s on, their defense would undoubtedly benefit from having him.
Im kind of thinking he stays with the Jags this season. They’re asking a lot for him and it would be stupid to get rid of a player like him, in my opinion.
On the other hand, if KC is ALL IN, to win the Super Bowl this year, they may just give up the store to get him.
We shall see.
But if I hear anything developing I'll let you all know.

The "A Football Life: Derrick Thomas" makes me cry every time I watch it. Such a sad ending to his life.

Best football documentaries. I watch them every Friday night when it's new episodes. That's definitely a sad one.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 7:31 pmThe "A Football Life: Derrick Thomas" makes me cry every time I watch it. Such a sad ending to his life.

It's tough building a consistent, tough team with guys that put themselves above the team. I'd take a pass on Jalen Ramsey.
J.D. Joe, you are overlooking Detroit. Strange things can happen up there. Heck, it's Detroit after all! :) The team bus might get stopped and robbed by the police up there. :D
The last time Mahomes and Detroit's safety Quandre Diggs got together was back in college. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... YCqQVX01-E I wonder if Mahomes remembers it? :o
Don't think Green Bay is the big problem. Not yet anyhow.

You make some interesting points to consider Mastiff :) First the more I think about Jalen Ramsey I have to first give Andy Reid a vote of confidence because he's been great at avoiding potential "Locker Room Poison". Notice he didn't go after Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell or any of these other "mal-contents". I think he more than learned his lesson back in the days he had to deal with "T. O." (Terrell Owens  ) Who by the way is a sterling boy scout compared to this newer generation of "Locker Room Poison"The Mastiff wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 7:56 pmIt's tough building a consistent, tough team with guys that put themselves above the team. No I don't Under-estimate the Detroit Lions in this upcoming game they play the Chiefs this Sunday. I was kind of surprised that they beat the Eagles like they did>> or it could be said that the Eagles did a great job of just outiright blowing that game  But Detroit's defensive is one I actually take seriously and KC is going to have to take them seriously or they could end up with one in the loss column.
Why would the Chiefs need any of this locker room poison with the offensive line up we have going into the remainder of this season?
Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
SpyderGirl I wish you could have attended a couple of games here at ARROWHEAD when we had Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith  The Stadium was literally electric. The adrenaline and noise levels were mind boggling to put it mildly. And when D.T. would sack a QB it wasn't a love tap either  I was so sick when he got into that stupid truck accident when there was a sheet of ice a half an inch thick on Interstate 435 that day and he was driving like a demon possessed teenager with too much booze  The one guy in that truck in the accident wearing a seat belt got out virtually un-scathed. It was truly a dark time in ARROWHEAD & KC historySpydergirl88 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 7:31 pmThe "A Football Life: Derrick Thomas" makes me cry every time I watch it. Such a sad ending to his life.
Our defense literally won most of our games when we had him and Neil Smith.

This eagles-packers game is a lot closer than expected.

Really is. Wentz making some clutch throws.

Yup! Me and MacLaren called it!
Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
Needless to say I'm getting more "crow" to eat that I've wanted this past year. Aaron Rogers sure has some serious soul searching to do after this game last night. I went to bed early>> I had foot surgery on both feet last Friday and I'm not getting over it as quickly as I anticipated. It just doesn't seem like any of these teams have the defensive units like they did back in the 80s & 90s
All I can say for the Eagles is that they better put together a 6 or 8 game winning streak if they have any hope of catching Dallas. I've very doubtful for that to happen because Wentz is far from consistent IMO. The Cowboys are looking like a well timed, well oiled machine at this point. Jason Witten looks like he's in his second year, not on his late career comeback.
Well I'm still picking the Chiefs to take the Lions this Sunday. I'm also giving Buffalo at least a legitimate chance against the Evil Empire this Sunday too. They say Tyreek Hill could possibly be back by the Colts game 10 days from now>> not that they are desperate for him with Robinson and Watkins playing the way they are. But it will sure be nice to have his 2 to 3 TDs a game when he's hot.
I'll have my Friday "CROW" medium well this time :o

Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
Same here!
Last I had seen, the game was tied and I was just expecting Aaron Rodgers to do Aaron Rodgers things and I would wake up seeing the Packers had won. Definitely surprised by the final results when I checked the score this morning!
Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
Honestly, I was most surprised by his performance in that game last night! He was making plays all over the field and just looked more confident overall.
Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
I'm picking 3 upsets for Week #4. The Bills over N.E., Cleveland over Baltimore and Chicago over Minnesota
NO I'm sticking with the Chiefs to dismantle the Lions>> even though the Lions have improved and several in the Sports media are predicting an upset.
And for some weird reason I'm thinking that the Redskins will beat the Giants.

Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
Don't let Buffalos 3-0 record fool you... :D They have a great defense but the Patriots have the best defense in the league and Josh Allen is still the Bills QB. They're not going to win. Buffalo should probably start calling Tom Brady "Dad." He has a 30-3 career record against the Bills and a 15-2 record actually in Buffalo. LOL He OWNS the Bills.
Cleveland is in a must win situation this week in my opinion. Otherwise, they're looking at a 1-7 first half of the season. They have a week 8 Bye week, followed by a week 9 game at Denver. That currently looks like their first real opportunity at victory judging by how they've been playing. So far this season they're champs on paper but still Cleveland Browns on the field.
They have so much talent but their offensive line sucks. Not only that but Baker Mayfield is physically limited due to his size and teams have figured out how to attack him by blitzing him from the center. Basically forcing Baker to scramble out of the pocket to try and make a play that way because he isn't tall enough to throw it over the rush. It's been obvious he just cant make plays outside of the pocket either, so teams are really trying to force that and take advantage of him. I'm guessing they're in for another long year.
Chicago is already favored over Minnesota by 2.5. I don't have too much confidence in either QB but believe in Cousins much more than Trubisky, therefore I chose the Vikings to upset the Bears.

FYI Troy Aikman owns the Bills.
Re: NFL Season: 2019-2020
LOL very true! :D
He did a good job putting them in their place in the early 90s, but I think ownership has been in new hands for about the past two decades.
