Got mine from England to Canada, way faster than anything I’ve ordered from the States. Weird.

Anyway, it was worth it. Splendid knife. Action is perfect. You can tell some serious thought went into that. Good job Spydercrew. Very sharp. Nice, thin edge angle - I don’t have to resharpen it. Might sharpen the hole a bit, but that’s it. Cool color. A lot darker than the majority of pics let on, but very nice dark red. I’m going to enjoy this one.
- best wishes, Jazz.

Some observations. I wondered why it was so light. Well, the blade is the same thickness as the FRN one, while the G10 is the same thickness as the original. There’s jimping on the choil. My original is plain. The clip end is rounded. Original is squared off. Again, very nice knife, with superb action. Some practical pics.

Original with Heinnie Haynes...

Thanks for posting Jazz. Nice to see some of the subtle changes made with this exclusive compared to the original.

Glad to hear you’re liking it Jazz. Did you notice the little ramp up on the spine of the g10 when it meets the jimping on the thumb ramp? It’s a subtle change but I think it helps the ergos a bit.

Not sure if I'll try it, but I'm curious blade swaps with older UKPKs will work on this one.

Could be a way for drop point fans to get that in a g10 model, not to mention the s110v blade, bd1n, teeth, etc...

I did not notice until you mentioned it, nice refinement!

I'll share my observations between the two models I have.

- The ramp up to the spine is on both of these. The original doesn't have it, I guess?
- Weight is the same on my samples, 1.7oz and 2.2oz
- Action is much stiffer on the G10. Not a bad thing. Don't know if the spring is stiffer; I will have to take them apart one day and compare. Maybe the FRN is just more broken in.
- Scale corners are rounder on the FRN, so it has a more comfortable feel to it. Little sharper on G10. I will probably sand them down a bit.

So far, I have come to prefer G10 over FRN models from the ones I have (Native, Manix, Delica), so it seems I have a favorite of the two here.

This is unlikely to work period. Swapping lightweight UKPK blades into the G10 frames won’t work because the lightweight blades are 2.5 mm thick and the G10 blades are 3 mm thick. Swapping amongst the G10 blades might possibly work but I’d guess the CQI updates to the springs between generations probably might be too great. We can’t really swap springs either since the new ones are 3-screw construction and the older ones are 2-screw, and the screw holes don’t match up anyway.

So... Really hoping for a new blue G10 sprint!! Dark gray G10 with Maxamet too please! :)

Might be able to swap out a bd1 FRN drop point blade into the new red g10 version though since they’re (approx) the same width.

Negative RS, the older ones may be 3mm, but this g10 blade mic'd at 2.46mm, exact same as BD1 and Gin-1 blades I just sampled. HH has them listed as .23 cm. A little off, but close enough I guess.

OK then, well I guess a swap with say a drop point blade would work... ;)

Woo-hoo!!

Now I'm tempted to get another one just to play with. Have a serrated drop point I could drop in. :D

Is the action still around the same level of resistance after the swap?

In my eyes a droppoint version is pleasing. Unfortunately we will not see it in a production model (I think so).

I caved and ordered one earlier this week.

I heard (it may have been this thread) that you can ask them to sell you one without the added UK tax if you live outside of the UK. I didn’t know this until after I ordered the knife. I contacted them a few days ago, and they refunded the tax cost. I highly recommend ordering!
