Agreed but that’s okay. I always wanted a purple and black Cruwear Endura back when DLT did their run. This is just as good and I’m happy to have it!

I'm carrying the PD#1-2XL now. I don't pay much attention to color, but I must admit the combination is attractive. I like the design and the light weight, so now to play with the edge.

Here's a side by side comparison of Spyderco purple vs the sprint run "burgundy." As has been noted, they're very close.

The color is really close to a shade of purple called byzantium purple. Like byzantium musk. I think it works nice with the black blade.

Just received my PD#1 stretch xl. Very nicely thin blade, surprisingly smooth action with zero side-to-side blade play and, even more stunning, close to zero vertical play, plus amazingly lightweight.

The one niggle was the pretty bad factory edge, very uneven angle and very obvious burr, my first Spydie with such a bad edge since a long time, though it was a quick fix on my diamond plates

Anyone know what the HRC is on this PD1? I heard coated blades are run a bit softer?

I’ve just ordered the PD#1-2XL. I’ve been waiting for the right variant of the 2XL and this is it.

If it’s good enough for Sal then it’s good enough for me!

If you’re anything like me, you’re gonna be way into it. The blade length to weight ratio is confounding…on top of the usual stretchy ergonomics

Still sad about no Ladybug... Black and reddish color seemed like a given! After years of carrying a Manbug I'm convinced the Ladybug is a better secondary knife for me.

After a little time with my Endela and Endura versions of this Sprint and with my SE Temperance Sprint, can I be ungrateful and say this sprint run deserves the SE Endela. The Endela has such a great SE pattern and this steel being so close to CruWear would be a grail level model for the Endela in my book.

I'd also love to see the Endura and Delica with the thin line series ffg CE blade pattern as the ultimate work knives but since those are disco'd and clearly not as loved(except by Wartstein) as the Endela SE I'd be happy to just see one knife with teeth.

Patriot Knifeworks... https://patriotknifeworks.com/spyderco- ... ack-blade/
Thanks for the links on the Sprint-run Dragonfly 2. I've ordered several knives from another vendor (including my Sage 5 CF and an engraved Dragonfly 2 for my daughter as a residency "graduation" gift) but they are out of this one. I just got my order in through Patriot Knifeworks.

I prefer a small EDC knife (currently carrying a CRKT Little Squid in D2 with a micarta scale) when I don't expect a major cutting project at home or in the woods. My daughter's DF2 was a little small in my hand when I gifted it to her, but with the addition of a lanyard knot it felt better so I'll probably do the same with this one with a lanyard knot, with the paracord color being chosen once I see the burgundy/purple/plum color in person.

I just got my P4 in PD#1 today. I think the FRN handles were a mistake based on how awesome the G-10 scales are on the P4 K390. Blurple G-10 would have been the cat's meow on this one.

I see it has been a year since the last post, but does anybody remember if the packaging is a bit different for PD#1 variants? I think all of my other Spydercos came with the same box but inside was a thin plastic bag with the knife and the dessicant package.

The P4 I got today came in the normal Spyderco box but packed inside in a thick padded plastic bag, without the dessicant but with a heavy coating of oil on the edge of the blade and about halfway up the knife. I'm curious, since this is the first Spyderco I think I ever bought from a B&M so I'm wondering if it was handled and repacked etc.

i have 2 of the PD#1 sprints (Endela and Dragonfly) and neither came with a heavily oiled blade

The G-10 version of the Stretch 2 XL is indeed nice. It's VERY nice. But the FRN of the sprint model is spectacular in its grippiness and weight. And the colors of the handle and blade or gorgeous. When you consider the cost savings over its more expensive brother, this Sprint was the deal of the year.

I have one new-in-box, right here on my desk. It's in the bubblewrap bag with desiccant. There's no unusual amount of oil on the knife.

Seki FRN is great, I love the feel of it. It's different than the FRN from Golden or China. It has a more premium feel to it.
