I wished I could’ve given y’all more of a heads up when we received the pre order a week ago, but we were asked in the email to keep it on the down low until the reveal. I’m sure there there was something leaked on other social media sites but that’s out of my wheelhouse.

This is the coolest colored exclusive Spyderco has ever done, so I had to grab one despite not being a big fan of 204P.

Nice to see this second run with the black liners! Broke down and ordered one, I have an unopened FDE Lynch clip that was just begging to be put on one of these bad boys. I personally am a huge fan of 204P PM2s, my favorite being the OG Knifeworks forest green version from a decade ago — back when Spyderco used to generously chamfer PM2 scales and I started collecting them. Cheers, Radioactive

Sold out this afternoon, took just a bit more than a day.

Was slightly temmpted to get one yesterday, until I learned that REC doesn't ship to my country. Oh well, saved me from using my Black Friday funds on an unexpected and to be honest unnecessary purchase.

I've never heard anyone say they're not a fan of 204P. Do you mean you're not a fan of 204P compared to 20CV and/or M390, or do you just not like any of those types of steel? And if the latter, what steel are you a fan of? I've always found 20CV and M390 to be as similar as advertised, but the only knife I have with 204P is a Microtech that I bought for collection rather than use, so I've never had a chance to compare 204P to the other two.

I'm not a fan of the whole family (20CV/204P/M390). They gives up too much toughness and edge retention for corrosion resistance in my opinion. I prefer tool steels, 15V being my all time favorite, but also a big fan of Rex 45, M4, and K390. I've never had any issue with my tool steels rusting, so I don't see any benefit in sacrificing toughness and edge retention for corrosion resistance.

That's a ridiculous take for a 3.5" folding knife...I love tool steels as much as the next fella, but saying there is something inherently wrong with well heat-treated M390/204P/20CV in an EDC folder is just asinine.

I look forward to all of the forthcoming evidence showing that the M390 class of steels can't hold up to your toughness and retention needs in a folding knife.

Don’t forget edge geometry has as much to do with toughness and edge retention as the steel does.

I said I'm "not a big fan" and I "prefer tool steel". I never said anything that you've inferred. I'm sorry you're so invested in M390/204P/20CV that you feel the need to defend it from someone who never attacked it in the first place.

Just got my tracking number, been wanting this variant for 3 years. I haven't bought a knife since July, which is possibly the longest stretch since I joined this forum.

Can't believe it lasted so long in stock. Was it because of the surprise drop? A large amount ordered? Or a sign of the economy? Hmmm..... something must be different because this was one of the most sought-after knife exclusives in recent times.

Appears to be a sign of the times and of course close to year end deal time. I've seen a few Koenig Arius's and Pro-Tech Mordax's sitting for a while lately also, and CRK's, longer than in the past anyway.

Yeah I think it’s just the economy and being so close to Christmas maybe because even the fairly hot Rex 45 Manix is STILL in stock and that’s been out since Tuesday. I thought that was another that would be gone in a day. Definitely not normal. Too bad it couldn’t have been this slow for the online seconds sale. 😂

Hahaha, "perks" of being around the hobby long enough! Takes a new design to really spike the interest.

Mine arrived today and I like the colorway much more IRL than in the online photos. Wishing I'd grabbed some of the others now.

Knife was perfect out of the box.

Got mine today. Worst lock stick I've experienced with a PM2 to date. Everything else looks good aside from the edge grind being 20ish degrees on one side and 15ish degrees on the other. That seems to be the norm with Golden Spyderco's now.
