Dang it and I was already planning on getting an PT50A...

Oh the dilemma... I mean I usually don't even like the PM2, but oh my that wharncliffe... And the only reason I haven't grabbed a Sage5 in Rex121 is because I don't like <=3" folders.

You know the irony of it all? I love buying these ultra wear resistant steels... But I also like sharpening 😂

Are we positive there’s a dlc coming after ?
Hmmm I’de prefer the dlc .. hate to miss out though.
The DLC is coming down the road, but no date. It will supposedly come with the new Spyderco coating when released. The above video has the details.

The live they did on YouTube says the engraving is a separate option you pay for when purchasing. Also they mentioned and showed a dlc version. There are 4 total versions. Two satin and two dlc.

The catch with that is, when it drops and if it's highly sought after and a limited run...it will sell out before you get your email. In the past we've seen some exclusives/sprints sell out in literally a minute. I don't think the game is quite like it was a few years back, so SHOULD last longer than that, though you never know I guess.

I've put this on my Cutlery Shoppe wishlist and signed up for notifications. I've also set my calendar to remind me 60, 30, and 5 minutes before the knife drops. I'm an hour west of MST.

My plan is to wake up when I wake up, do what I do in the mornings, and eventually sit down at my desk. If it's before 9:00 a.m., I'll surely buy one. My sock drawer wins. If I'm distracted and don't get to buy one... my wallet wins. Whatever happens, it's a win-win situation.

Make sure you set up an account at Cutlery Shoppe with shipping address and payment information. Login 10 minutes before sale time and refresh 1-2 minutes before sale time.

The wharnies are the ones to get in my opinion. I enjoy mine in S30V. I'm sitting this one out, but enjoy the hunt...

Well, guess we all know what steel the PM 2 that Big Sal said he was carrying is made from now lol. I knew there was more to his PM 2 lol.
...
You mean here viewtopic.php?p=1864057#p1864057 - ?

In the linked post Sal talks about an FRN (!) PM2, so it can´t be this (G10) REX 121 version, right? (But as I hope rather a linerless LW version, just like the Para 3 LW, and presumably in BD1N - ?)

But perhaps you were talking about another one of Sals posts!
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Hey Jeb,

The Loffer project was well in-the-works and close to completion. They are machined G-10. The mold for the FRN Para 2 wasn't even finished. The piece I have is an early article. The FRN version is very well done. It will give you the same design, ergos, reliability and performance, at a lower cost.

Loffer's offer is special. Probably won't see much of the steel in the near future. Very functional designs. He's one of us when it comes to passion for the knife. I can only thank him for the interest and support.

Yes, I am going to be all over these. The drop point is a given but, I really like the Wharncliffe, they really are quite a different blade and even more so the bigger the blade is.

Then you add the G10 - orange scales wow, just got to hope for your new Spyder black Trench Coat on the Rex121 on the black steel and orange scales will make for an awesome looking knife. I have never had any issues with your frn, but G10 is awesome...

Then there is the killer Rex121 steel on top of everything here. It will make for quite the slicer of a looker. I never figured to see Rex121 on a blade any longer than my Sage5, it's a heck of a steel for cutting.

Now as hard as the Rex121 is for me to hone, I can only imagine how much a challenge it was, is; for you guys to work this steel into a blade. May the force run strong in you guys lol...

Awesome, great to hear - thank you.

I’m not in the running this round as I have to keep my 2026 knife buying priorities straight, but I really like these versions, and it is great seeing another PM2 wharncliffe variant.

Should make for a great knife, I have some Rex121 in a little Sage5 that has really impressed me with its ability to keep a good sharp edge.
I would bet this FRN PM2 will be in BD1N for the first drop. Every first edition Golden LW has been in BD1N (Para 3, Manix 2, Native Chief, Lil Native, Shaman). The only notable exception was the Native 5 which was first released in S35VN.
S30V; ZDP-189; S35VN; VG-10; BD1N; H1; SuperBlue/SUS410; 8Cr13MoV; Micro-Melt PD#1; REX-45; 9Cr14MoV; Cruwear; BD1; K390; Magnacut; HAP40/SUS410; 20CV; 15V; M4; SPY27; LC200N; S90V; AUS-6

I contacted CS.... no pre-orders for sake of fairness. I go back to work on the 5th when they drop. I so hate using my phone for anything on line! Old eyes and fat fingers tend to mess up things...lol. I hope I can get in on this.

Is that true for releases that have been limited quantities per customer too?

I kind of want to wait for a DLC version too, but dunno how long "soon after" is and it feels like more of a gamble to wait.

Yea.... I'm a fan of raw/satin finshed blades.... but the DLC in black with the orange would be killer. I'm in Ohio in a small city called Massillon. We are the "world famous" Tigers, so....... I would gravitate to the orange and black version. ;)
