The City, County State and Federal police(police, NSA, FBI, CIA...), politicians, and courts re-determine citizens rights in the US and it's territories every minute of every day. None of it is worth the paper it is written on.
The FBI told me once that I DID NOT HAVE A BILL OF RIGHTS after they screamed at me and threw me around for an hour.
That is why I do not celebrate any malarkey about any governments or countries. It is all make believe.

The founding fathers outlined the rights we all have as people, in the bill of rights (the first 10 amendments). These are rights we have that the government cannot (or should not be able to) infringe upon. Say what you will about the founders, yes they were slave owners and etc, but they had the intentions correct.Ankerson wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 9:09 amDoc Dan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:30 amNo, the Government did not give those rights. As Americans we recognize those as unalienable rights. The Government is supposed to protect those rights and has no Constitutional authority to take them away. Those who try to do so are actually anti American and are attacking our nation from within.
The Gov gave it's citizens the rights in the 1st place, that's how it works.
You are assuming the current Gov would still be intact.![]()
However with the administratiom (lmao) we have now, that's all out the window since they are infringing upon our rights, both citizens and non-citizens. And yes, before anyone tries to counter, our bill of rights covers ALL people. ****, most of the constitution does. It clearly lines out what all people within our borders have, vs what only citizens do.
And yes, I'm one of those "far left thugs" before anyone asks. I own firearms, know how to use them and use them safely, and I'll protect mine and others rights to the grave.
Good this madman was taken down. However statistics show we live in the safest times ever. We hear about it more thanks to our interconnectivity though. Still have to check and verify sources though, nothing has changed there.

Criminals actually more than anyone realize that the foundations of our rights don't come from the government, because free agency actually comes from nature. They can use their own body however they please, even to harm others, and the government can't change that, it can only come in after the fact. In general, whatever a criminal wants to use, he will use, government "rights" and "restrictions" can be circumvented by his mere autonomy. Law abiding citizens I believe are better off having legal use of the best tools available for defense against an opponent who has already decided to ignore the law to begin with.
We still need the government to come in afterwards, and justice is an important part of deterrence, but justice can not protect people in the moment that someone decides to commit a crime. Nothing but you and your available means can help you in the moment.

My dad was an advocate of bringing back public hangings. He said it would stop most of this nonsense.

In this day and age and current society?
I doubt it.
More like the complete opposite.
People would be doing anything just to get their public hanging on social media video the way things are these days.

I wouldn't go too deep into it, heaven forbid someone blows up peoples belief system.
Re: The Michigan Walmart Attack Knife
The problem with that would be, who would they hang? The real criminals who have committed horrific crimes against the general population, or those the government wants to make examples of for not agreeing with all of their policies? It's a slippery slope that, in the climate of the last decade or two, would spiral out of control really fast. Especially when such a high percentage of the population are ruled by their emotions.

Yeah, things are different now than they were back when he was growing up. He lived through the Great Depression and WW2, so he had a vastly different way of thinking than those, today (if what they do can be considered thinking).

Currently, yeah I would agree considering current affairs, not sure what they would call it but thinking sure isn't it.

I was as PRO USA as anyone who served 20+ years in the US military before 2002.
Yes there were circles that I could not square, and I am human, I am not perfect. Some things I did not and still do not understand.
Then 1995 and 2002 happened. I was ripped off massively and my mental image of ethics and justice were kind of shattered.
NOBODY CARES. NOBODY.
Just try to get help.
So what is the USA? Born and raised here for 65 years, it is what I know. I don't know anything about anywhere else, so I am pretty sure I'm staying right here. Hard to say what the USA is or is not. There are more unethical people and businesses than I thought possible, very little liberty, and there is very little justice for the poor against the rich and powerful. The US Constitution and Bill of Rights aren't worth the paper they are written on. And people believe with every fiber in all of this.
GOOD LUCK.

Yes there are moments I agree with you, but then I see who does public hangings in 2025....annnnnnnnnd NO.
I am not leaving for any of those countries ever.
I'm just trying to stay kind of quiet(like a mouse), stay healthy, keep a roof over my head, and do what is necessary to survive.

Doc, Ankerson, Kristi, sal, Naperville, Jim, Doug and all, I am scared that the anti knife people will use the rise in knife attacks in American cities as an excuse to pass more anti knife laws.
Knives are beautiful needful tools.

I wouldn't worry about it too much as the pro knife people do more damage by doing stupid things than something like this could ever do.SpyderEdgeForever wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 3:03 pmDoc, Ankerson, Kristi, sal, Naperville, Jim, Doug and all, I am scared that the anti knife people will use the rise in knife attacks in American cities as an excuse to pass more anti knife laws.

The claim that goverment grants rights is complete hysterical revisionist nonsense. There is no basis for that view, popular though it may be.
Read the Constitution, read the Federalist and AntiFederalist papers. History is not what you claim.

The DOI is not a Gov document, might be good to hang on a hook in an outhouse to use.
The COTUS is the law of the land, not the DOI.
Did you even go to school at all?
Google the history of the Bill Of Rights and READI IT if you want to learn something and actually find where your rights came from and why.
Let that sink in awhile.
The Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the United States of America. It was completed on September 17, 1787, with its adoption by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was later ratified by special conventions in each state. It created a federal union of sovereign states, and a federal government to operate that union. It replaced the less defined union that had existed under the Articles of Confederation. It took effect on March 4, 1789 and has served as a model for the constitutions of numerous other nations. The Constitution of the United States of America is the oldest written national constitution in use.

The F.B.I. screamed at me and threw me around a room for an hour in 2002 for complaining about getting ripped off for $35,000 dollars by my employer and the facts about the situation. I was homeless and living in a Chevrolet Express Van, and bathing in the Pacific Ocean and creeks of Silicon Valley and down to eating a can or two of tuna a day.
The FBI knew the truth, and I POSTED IT. I posted about the $35,000 owed and the fact that the company's Director of Bioinformatics shot and killed the VP of the business unit after stealing all of our data, and then commit suicide. He sent the data to China. Whose data was it? Ours(PPD Discovery), Pfizer's and Eli Lilly's.
The FBI told me to stay off the Internet if all that I was going to do was lie and gossip, that I did not have a Bill of Rights, and that they could hold me for months without telling anyone where I was.
Maybe I just needed to recite your paragraph to them and they would have given me my money and backed off.
GOOD LUCK WITH ALL OF THAT. NEAT DOCUMENTS THAT DON'T MEAN SQUAT.
