Couldn't resist picking up some of the plain edge K390s before they disappear.
K390 Delica 4 and K390 Dragonfly 2 Wharnie incoming. Those Bento sales are hard to pass up. Still more I wanted to grab. Wish I still received birthday money as I know where I would spend it.
As Joe stated, K390 has become one of my favorite steels.
Did you look at other retailers? The BB sales on those k390 knives puts the prices level with other typical knife retailers who offer free shipping and hassle free returns. In fact the prices are identical. There’s really no reason to buy any knife from BB that is offered at other retailers.

I purchased enough to qualify for free shipping. Additionally they had some of the Hap40 that I have been hunting for as well.

At least we have a full line up of seki models to chose from. Try chasing sprints for a taste of rex45
They are still available, with certain conditions. I rarely purchase with resale value in mind, and value is something I personally palace much emphasis on with knives, tools, gear, etc.

If you desire pristine, new in box sprints, they can still be found if your wallet is deep enough. This doesn't fit my collecting model but it may work for you.

I really like to be able to use my knives as they were intended and thus the first scratch, nick or bit of road rash hurts me a little. For this reason I love picking up less than carefully loved Spydies from auctions. They rank really high on the value scale and are basically 90-95% of their original capability. I grabbed a basically perfect Hap 40 Delica for almost $100 last week and months ago I found a real beater Rex45 PM2 for less than $150. It needed some love but the restoration affords a level of personal satisfaction for me. My favorite resto was a Caly Jr (burgundy) in ZDP that had seen better days. With only hand sanding and polishing, it came back to life and I would say it is in 90% condition now. So keep looking for the ones you want and don't be afraid to buy beaters.

K390 is currently writing a legend for many Seki models. No doubt about it, this wave right now will be sought after and discussed for a long time into the future.

Unfortunate we're losing not only the Spyderedge options, but all the Wharnies. Arguably both the more favored options among many of us enthusiasts. I can't believe that, especially the Delica Wharncliffe, which seems so difficult to find available, and resale value already jumping up to absurd levels... That one variant alone should stay in production if anything...
And I won't even bring up the Jumpers at this point...

Hoping we see some Japan made Sprints come up in models we haven't seen K390 in yet... The return of foliage green and K390...? mmmmmm
Going back to Caly.

The Dragonfly and Endela Warncliffes in K390 are available straight from Spyderco, as is the serrated Endura. There are five other traditional models available, as well. The moral of the story is if you see something you want at a price you can justify, buy it now. There's no guarantee it will be around tomorrow.

Yep agree, and, quite a few things are still available at several retailers, aside from like I said the DelWharnica, but maybe that's reason why so many are getting disco'ed now, they didn't push through sales quite at the pace as hoped for...
I have definitely stretched myself a bit thin grabbing some I think will be gone sooner than others.
Going back to Caly.

Or maybe they did, and the market became saturated. I certainly can't say. When these were discontinued and the prices slashed, I couldn't pass it up and bagged a serrated Endura and Delica. The Endura is what I expected, and the Delica was far more. Despite being on the puny side, it's actually quite useful.
