Paul’s passing does shock and sadden me, but I find solace in knowing his voice remains alive in the forum’s archives.

I shall search on “The Deacon” from time to time to honor him, even if I was sometimes the fool he would not suffer….

And now I’m sure to wonder where his hand touched the Spydiewiki.

He was a big presence when I first joined the forum. Nothing quite like the first time seeing pictures of his "collection". R.I.P. Deacon.

This is sad. He was a big part of this special place. And I'm sure and even bigger part in his family's lives. Rest in peace Paul.

This is such sad news.

Paul & I disagreed from time to time, but he was always courteous and friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He epitomised shiny footprints.

Rest in peace.

Dang, I had noticed he hadn't been posting much any more. I hope he wasn't suffering. Really can't add anything more than what has already said about the man around this place. Will definitely miss his wisdom and knowledge. Condolences to all of his friends and family.

I hope someone from his family knows of this little place he loved to hang out at, and can find this thread and see the appreciation, love and respect a bunch of people have for him. Rest in peace Paul.

Yes, it is very sad to have to say goodbye to a dear friend again. We got to know each other through the forum and over time it became more. I once said to Paul that I thought it was a shame that we weren't neighbors and couldn't just chat over the fence in the evenings... unfortunately, geographically the entire Atlantic separated our two continents.

Paul had a habit for a while of giving a Spydie to a forum member every year who he thought deserved it. So I can count myself among those lucky ones and have a memory of him that I can hold in my hands.

I miss Paul...

That’s very sad to read. I’ve always enjoyed Paul’s contributions to this forum and to the Spyderverse at large. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up some of his older pics. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be missed for sure.

Wow. Big loss to the community. Sad news. I recall enjoying a lot of his collection photos, he was definitely one of the mainstays of this forum when I joined.

Sending the most positive vibes to his family and friends.

Not going to act like I knew him well... but maybe he would have enjoyed seeing more Spydies, like most of us do. So here's a small tribute to him. He listed his top 5 Spydercos here on the forum, and this is 4 of those 5 models (I don't have a K05). I don't have many wooden, nor any jigged bone, like he did, but maybe he'd like to see them.
