Newest addition to my fixed blade family: White River Knives Ursus Cub in Magnacut.

Hard question to answer because it’s subjective and everyone’s hands are different but how does the Cub feel? I think it’s about 4” and the Delica fits me well which is 4”. I really want to try one but worry the handle is cramped

I can get a four finger grip on both the Delica and Ursus Cub, barely. I suppose the Ursus Cub's handle is slightly cramped because of the lanyard hole at the butt end.

For typical EDC tasks though that don't require extended handling, it should do just fine.

Thanks for the side by side. Looks like it would fit me ok, the Delica is comfortable for me. Although the cruwear temperance is $50 less and cruwear

^ You're welcome.

The Cruwear Temperance is indeed a great buy. I just got the Ursus Cub first because I missed the initial drop a few months ago and I told myself I would get one the next time they were available.

Just got this Axial Alpine v2 in today. First impressions are pretty good, seems to have pretty good thickness and geometry for a slicey little EDC fixed blade. Feels a bit like a higher end White River M1.

Kitchen knives count?

I drew up this Santoku about 8 years ago, and I finally got someone to make it for me in 64 HRC Magnacut this past year 😃

Fixed Blade Friday? or Framelock Friday? both! 😃

Just got this Bushmate from BPS Knives Ukraine.

I didn't really need another fixie. Just got it so I could purchase the stickers, proceeds of which support a Ukranian charity.

For the last several months I have enjoyed the Lionsteel M4 for fixed blade tasks.

Lionsteel makes great fixed blades. This is the M5 in 3v. Comes with a nice leather sheath. Just put a new edge on it last week.

Quality of the sheath is good.

I bought a Benchmade Dacian 203 tonight.

It appears as though Benchmade forgot to sharpen the very edge. I could run my finger up and down the edge and it wasn’t much sharper than the square edges on the spine of a knife. The salesman and manager agreed that Benchmade skipped a step. There was no comparison to other models; it wasn’t finished correctly.

They were pondering whether to deal with the hassle of sending it back to Benchmade for sharpening or a replacement due to its “defect.” I asked if they could sell it at a discount and they dropped the price 15% and sold it to me as-is.

I used the Sharpmaker and put a sharp, slightly toothy edge on it.

Problem solved.

Same experience with Dacian here, very poor apex from Benchmade, quickly remedied on the Sharpmaker. Their Magnacut though felt lively and crisp, and similarly I've went for a toothy edge that just cuts and cuts and cuts.
