I would like to see a knife with blade similar to Arc (maybe 1-2 cm longer, not more), but with a handle that would allow a litte better grip. Something along the philosophy of Creely Mako

Id love the enuff and enuff 2 if the handles were smooth contoured g10 or micarta. The bi directional frn just doesn’t quite do it for me but I love the designs.

I’d buy that. I bet it’s be pretty easy to make also.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I’ve used both the Giantmouse GMF 1 and the Subway Bowie a fair bit. The biggest advantage that the GM has over the Subway is the sheath. It carries really flat and a nice leather sheath like that is more comfortable to carry than anything plastic. I still find that I like a lanyard on it, partially for my pinky to grab but mostly to make it easier to get out of the sheath. It fits deeply enough that it’s a touch fiddly to remove without the lanyard, but I would call that a feature, not a bug.

One of the items on my to do list is to make a leather sheath for the Subway. I find the salt series knives to be ideal for leather sheaths - it takes all the worry out of the leather retaining moisture and promoting rust. I and many others have used mostly homemade leather sheaths at sea for years and they are really nice to wear. My favorite sheath that Spyderco makes is the leather mule sheath which encapsulates a lot of the handle.

I originally bought my GM to carry alongside my rig knife when sailing to use for more precise cuts, and to have handy on my belt for when I wasn’t wearing my rig. The combination of big tough knife and little slicey knife is a pretty good work setup.

The combination of Aqua Salt and Subway does that job quite well also. 🙂

Spyderco Ark
Bark River PSK EDC
TJ Schwarz Overland Sport

Something along the size of the PSK or Sport would be awesome, I wear XL gloves and these two have ample handle room…never had the Enuff 2 but throw in some magnacut and it would be an instant buy…I tend to carry a smaller sized edc fixed blade more.

I would be in for another junction.
My most carried, partially because locking folders are illegal to carry, are
Böker AK1 reverse tanto (so good I bought a spare)
Böker Packlite
And a serrated Ark as an emergency spare.

This thread is trying its best to pull me into a rabbit hole
..so I'm already browsing through Lamnia's catalogue. A Brisa Necker and a couple of other models are 10% off now. Not a lot, but they're fairly priced to begin with so this just makes it even a bit better. With canvas micarta handle and leather sheath it's still only about 70% of what you'd be paying for a butt naked Izula.

Don't... Buy an izula... Seriously. I know they were all the rage a while back. But 1095 steel plus factory finish beneath the coating... Not to mention the thickness behind the edge...
For edc I prefer something that actually cuts...
Maybe spyderco could make an opinel Collab?

Anyway I think there could be a market for a compact but full neutral-handled, 2.5” ish bladed knife with a performance oriented geometry.
You could always take a Moran or an Enuf and cut down the blade to whatever size you want (just keep it cold while cutting/grinding).
The Enuff is only 2.75", isn't it?
Looks like the Enuff has been discontinued (except for the salt, which is an SE wharncliffe). The Enuff 2 has a 3.95" blade.

Personally a fixed Swayback in K390 would be ideal for me. Just my .02

I have an Izula, cuts fine for most utility tasks. I'm not saying it is the best thing, but has always gotten the job done. Carves wood, breaks down boxes, cuts zip ties. It's a knife. And it is very, very easy to carry around.

I EDC it along with my Endura bacause I like to have a fixed blade at all times. I can use it for rough work and save my Endura's edge for more precise tasks.

The drop point Stok is my go to edc fixie. I must say, the Spyderco crowd are doing a big mistake when they overlook this little guy just because it’s in 8Cr.

+1 on the idea, some general utility edc fixed blade in a size of Guardian 3.2 or Izula, neutral handle and decent price would be a hit.
