I went with Lynch as well. Spyderco standard, Satin finish. To me, almost a necessary addition.

Can't say much yet, only that both the M4 and Cru-Wear get new scales .
Never had both steels in the same geometry before, but if Cru-Wear's toughness is even remotely similar to M4's, I'd definitely like CW better just for the ease of maintenance.

Does this BHQ version come with the slightly different finished pocket clip like the standard M4 model? Been awhile since I've had it, but I remember the clip that came with the M4/CF version being a bit different, maybe darker or more stone washed looking?

Pictures look like the clip is a standard spyderco satin/polish finish.

The regular GB2 has a very unique finish. Almost like an anodized or heat colored look. Not the typical dark black finish they use. Looks like it would wear better than the standard black Spyderco finish. I can't speak to how the original wears. Once Lynch started making the blacksmith finish I swapped all the black clips I had.

The regular GB2 clip is my favourite black clip. It has a durable and hard wearing finish, unlike the regular painted clips. I wish all black clips came like this. It came on a number of Taichung models, GB1, GB2, Tuff, and a few others.

Here is an example of it on my GB1, with barely a scratch on it after many years.

I am finding it so funny to hear what seems like almost universal distaste for the natural g-10 handles. It is literally one of my top favorite colors for a handle! I wish I could get one of these Cru-Wear ones, so nice.

It's different but not the basic clip. It has a sort of "oil" finish that is quite cool.

I suspect the original pocket clip on the gb1 and gb2 is DLC ; they are quite durable. The new one is a standard Satin silver clip.

I did not see this coming, the GB2 in differnt steel. Based on what has been released out of Taichung lately, GB2 in Maxamet next? Maybe it depends on how well the CRUWEAR does.

I wonder what else we may see from Taichung. REX 45? 15V? Wouldn't say no to something in K390.

I prefer CPM-M4. Stays sharper longer.

Perfect edc there in my book, micarta + lynch clip included.

Hopefully I can jump on this one before they sell out.
