By the way, today I learned about magnet fishing.
Now there’s a few hours down a rabbit hole on YouTube! Apparently Amsterdam is a global Mecca for it

Unless you were using it for a prybar there’s no reason such a stout a blade should ever break there. I expect they will find some freakish grain anomaly.
I hope I never use the civilian I bought it out of need more than anything. Ok ok maybe I wanted one just a bit too :)
I'm going to get that police off next week hoping tomorrow. I'm interested to see what they say. I do my best to use the right tool for a job and I don't feel u overloaded it. Who knows maybe I did something to weaken it before it snapped ?

Not the first thing that comes to mind for recreation in Amsterdam, but, it might be fun.

I’m fortunate enough to have visited Amsterdam many times when my children were little and it really shifted my perception of the place - it really is a beautiful city and all things to all people. If we ever happen to cross paths there for an Amsterdam meet we should go grab some apple pie and cream for everyone one at Winkel 43 down Westerstraat - it is truly world class Apple Pie!

I would send it in . Filling holes had nothing to do with this failure. You can always call first and explain the situation. MG2
I agree with Manixguy. Just send it in to Spyderco Warranty & Repair. I've been pleasantly surprised on more the one occasion on their ability to repair stuff.
You've just got to be careful when using knives for all kinds of different jobs. It's extremely tempting to use them to pry with and to use them for other various jobs. As popular as the POLICE model is I'm 99% sure they will have all of the necessary hardware to repair it.

The reason why its so popular in Amsterdam is rather simple. Lots of waterway’s and stoned people loosing there bike’s in them…

That makes perfect sense.
