I've never heard of bad quality control coming from any of Spyderco's factories regard,ess of location.

I love 14C28N. Good toughness, and edge retention, while being easy to sharpen. If the heat treat is done right, it's a fantastic steel. And I know Spyderco has heat treating down.

I agree 14C28N would be my top choice and it's widely available in China.
