Definitely liking all the tool steel in this reveal. Now I have a better chance of getting some of that BBB 15v.

Good observations. With ~4% chromium in K390 and lower corrosion resistance than ZDP189, it's an interesting choice for an outdoorsy knife. The E2, aka "More Than Enuff," is a bit heavy for my UL backpacking style at 6 oz (I try to stay under 3 oz) but would I
like to carry the K390 E2? You bet I would. Just not on rainy days. If and when the Magnacut Manix makes an appearance, it'll likely be one of my top-choice backpacking knives.

Most woodcraft people use simple uncoated non-stainless steels. I don't think the K390 Enuff 2 is going to present much issues out in the woods if you are careful.
Edited typo

but they tend to use steels with high toughness instead of high hardness or wear resistance.

Not much in the Reveal for me, and that's a good thing. Leaning towards a More than Enuff, but I have a Mule in k390 so it is not a requirement. 15V is so far beyond my needs that it could not possibly be a benefit to me, so those are an easy pass. It's a maybe on the AEB-L mule, and only because BBB helped with the heat treat.
That leaves money on the table for MC Native, MC UKPK, and hopefully the MC Manix 2.
Sigh, another typo squashed.

1095, A2, and O1 aren't exactly tough compare to most steels and those are heavily represented in woodcraft tools. Axe steels, of course, are very tough. Anyway, I get your point.

I was going to complain about the crappy steel on the stok, and I still am, but then I saw the enuff 2 in k390

The Enuff 2 in K390 really jumps out at me. Maybe it is time to get a Shaman too if I can snag one in 15v. And if I am being honest with myself I have never had a truly gentleman's folder and that damascus and carbon fiber Spyopera is so temptingly beautiful . . . but I will probably talk myself out of it.

Whoa, a new blade steel for the Lil' Temp 3 LW. Didn't expect that. This is pretty much a must buy for me. Guess I have to get the CBN stone as well. Time to start saving.
Any idea how the AEB-L with the refined heat treat will compare with the AEB-L in the Urban sprint? Don't really have a need for a Mule, but I enjoy the Urban. Hopeful that this may mean more AEB-L.

Looks like some interesting new stuff. It's interesting that there are a couple more models rockin' the 15V. Multiple models with the identical newfangled steel suggests that Spyderco has a bit of confidence that consumers will find it desirable into the future. It's also interesting to see some K390, which has been my favorite for a while.
Which will I buy? None. I'm in that rare spot in life, a place of knife contentedness. I'm feeling the Knife Zen. The few that I carry are still novel and exciting, and they're totally filling their roles. A new knife at this time wouldn't add to my happiness.
One more thing that hasn't been mentioned: The cover of the reveal is kinda cool. I don't know what it is, or if it's intentionally ambiguous. But it looks good.

Very excited for the PM2 in 15V and Lil Temp 3 in K390. Will definitely be picking up both (or trying to for the PM2 anyway).

Great job Spyderco, a lot of cool items in this one. I would be tempted on the Shaman in 15V but I think my Manix in 15V will hold me off for now. I am tempted by any Shaman to try one, but I am not crazy about the price. Still mad I just missed the Shaman on the online second sale... maybe I will get lucky this year.

i'm really glad to see the manix come first since it's my favorite. i can't help but wonder though if it would've been so hard to get if it had come after the shaman and pm2. and i wonder if there will be some reasonably priced 15v manixes now that people will be able to get the steel in designs they prefer.

interesting reveal...
i know some people will be happy to see more 15v in different designs.
i wonder what those stoks will cost, being in 8cr13mov and from china. i don't have a problem with that steel from spyderco like i do from other companies, but it'll have to come down to value.
it's surprising to see a k390 enuff 2. i thought the knife was originally supposed to be a salt, but it was revealed in vg10, and now in k390 before the vg10 has even been released. still hoping for a salt version, but i don't really need it anymore with my magnacut mule. does anyone use k390 in an outdoors role? i know fixed blade aren't only for outdoor use, but that's how i use them, so im curious.
i'm definitely surprised by the lt3 in k390. it's already a very expensive knife. is it really doing that well? too bad it wasn't the leafjumper or rockjumper being revealed in k390 instead.
sad to see no magnacut manix in this reveal. now that the native is finally starting to trickle out and the ukpk was listed with it in the product guide, i was really hoping to see a manix salt officially announced.
overall, it's good to see another reveal. i think these reveals are a good way to see where spyderco is headed and what they think is important to prioritize. i know a lot of people will be happy with this one.
I was surprised to see the Lil Temp 3 LW in K390 too. It leads me to believe that sales numbers do not entirely determine what knives get K390, because I was also surprised to see the Enuff 2 in K390 when the Enuff 2 in VG10 still isn’t out yet.
The K390 Lil Temp 3 LW also reminds me of your thread about using high end steel in knives before discontinuing them. The VG10 version at $176 may not end up being a hot seller but maybe the K390 version at $217 will be.

I love seeing that the work shirts are
high quality and being made in collaboration with Orvis, a New England based company! As much as I like the Stok’s I think I’m more excited about a couple work shirts than I am about knives! Something might be wrong with me.
Ultimately, I was most interested to see some new designs in this Reveal and with only one present, this was one of the less exciting Reveals for me.

4.3oz for the Military 2 is pretty sweet. I was worried the "PM2 XL" was going to be higher weight than the Military, but they actually shaved some off!
Yep, I thought for sure going to full nested liners would add weight. They must have skelonitized them pretty well.

This is a steel junkie reveal right here! Very nice for someone looking to dabble into the tool steel world. I'm glad my needs are met! Happy hunting for those 15V's...you're going to need some luck!

I said I was gonna calm down this year but this reveal is almost only filled with models I'd want. Especially the 2 new fixed blades if the price isn't too high for my budget when they release
ETA : Nevermind, just checked the price guide. $100 USD MSRP is gonna make me at least buy the bowie version. Also the Enuff 2 K390 and one day, the Military 2.
At that price, I want to try that Bowie too. Small fixed blade seems very interesting.

Curious about the two mules. Might pick up both. My impression is that usually mules come out before the steel is used in other products, but both of the Mule steels in the reveal (15V and AEB-L) have already been used in Spyderco products. I just find it odd, that's all.

Same here.
I´d have rather thought that the Stretch XL (FRN) would get the K390 treatment. Actually even hoped so, since this is the platform I´d like to try that steel in.
The Enuff 2 in K390 is really cool though and quite intriguing...
