The cool thing is that KC is not requiring anyone to buy one. Not every exclusive is going to appeal to everyone.

Since *burlap* micarta is technically different than standard micarta…
is it different enough that they could do a Cruwear model and not infringe on previous sprints/exclusives?

Pakawood .... or do I need to invest my knife money in a pair of glasses?
So many knives - so little funds!!!

I think I’m fixed for Shamans, but man I would love to feel this in hand.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Absolutely. Any new color/texture of Micarta is a new knife entirely and doesn't break their sprint "rules".

It said in that post more information coming today so I'm sure they will. Probably see more threads about it later today.

Not to imply that your intent wasn’t a joke, but it originally came off as condescending as if we are the reason spyderco can’t expand or offer something better... We’ve been told many times, or better said, guilted by people here who essentially say “stop complaining about models you don’t like and just buy it; if you don’t buy it retailers or spyderco won’t make new exclusives or sprints”. I’m not apt to eat a **** sandwich in order to get a better sandwich tomorrow and what you wrote basically stated that exact sentiment.

Thought knifecenter likes to do composite hap40 blades

Having a bad day? Comparing this knife or situation to eating a sh** sandwich is pretty extreme. Buy it or not no one cares.Rinzler wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:22 amNot to imply that your intent wasn’t a joke, but it originally came off as condescending as if we are the reason spyderco can’t expand or offer something better... Ha! Interested to see how quickly this one sells out. I was surprised that the recent BHQ M4 Micarta Shaman lasted as long as it did. I do like burlap Micarta, but i'd like to see some black burlap. Probably could RIT dye it.

Re: Mystery Knife Center exclusive coming 6/23
To my surprise, burlap micarta also patinas pretty easily. The first photo is from September 2021 when these scales were new. The second is from a couple weeks ago, just worn in from hand oils!steelcity16 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 12:03 pm

*I clearly take WAY too many photos of my knives*

I’m actually having a great day sitting out in the sun next to my pool browsing sites. I don’t contend that this knife is anything, nor would I compare this to something undesirable rather that someone (not you) suggesting that one purchase a product that someone doesn’t like or want is akin to eating something undesirable in order to get what they want. I’m sorry you can’t see that but as you note, no one cares.SG89 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:25 amHaving a bad day? Comparing this knife or situation to eating a sh** sandwich is pretty extreme. Back on topic because I’m interested in this knife: I called knife center and am now a bit perplexed. For a knife that drops supposedly tomorrow, they are unable to provide any details on what the knife is, whether or not an update is coming today, or when the mystery knife goes on sale tomorrow. That doesn’t seem very organized for a knife less than 24 hours out.
In other news the guy on the phone threw spyderco under the bus by saying that spyderco hasn’t allowed them to release any information on it yet. I find that a stretch to believe…
