Looking forward to seeing more about the Millie 2. Speaking of which, information from this year's show seems pretty scarce. I haven't been able to find a single Eric interview yet.

That will probably find it's way to my pocket. Always liked the Military but wanted it tip up and with a compression lock. Looks like it might happen. Hopefully it is somewhat affordable.

Much prefer a floating stop pin instead of a screw.

I'm curious about the blade-to-handle as well. Something makes me want to say the handle looks a bit shortened, but that could just be parallax/perspective from the image.

But yeah, congrats Spyderco! (and give your fans some official info!)

Finally! Man I really hope spyderedge will be available when it is released.

It's interesting how little has changed. Compare that to the major PM/PM2 changes for example.

The most striking thing to me is how curved the top of the handle is.

It definitely seems like s pm2 xl but I like it.
My only complaints about the military were the less pronounced forward finger guard in the non-choil grip and lack of clip positions. This one seems to take care of both of those.

Having had plenty of both at this point I dont notice any difference in the useability of the knife.

Having had plenty of both, I prefer the floating stop pin for taking it apart and putting it back together.

An unreleased unrevealed compression lock PM2 XL Military 1.1 wins American Made Knife of the Year LOL that is nothing to brag about, since american knife industry looks in such a sad state
Emerson is re-releasing some model from 25 years ago in CPM154
Spyderco is re-releasing 2 sprints and turning yellow into green FRN handles for a couple of models
ZT kinda went off the radar

Since 2015 Overall Knife of the Year was won by italian designs
Last american one that I liked was 2008 winner Chris Reeve Knives Umnumzaan and I have one.
Chris Reeve also went off the radar wife retired him

And generally speaking the interesting pieces well made with nice materials are released now by chinese high-end manufacturers

I'd be much more interested to know if SPY27 Military Sal was talking about some time ago will make it into that mythical production queue, during our lifetime that is...

I remember hearing something about spyderco keeping the original liner lock version after this comes out.

I’ve almost pulled the trigger on a Military more times than I can remember but I’m just not a fan of liner locks. Either way I’ll be getting an all black Military 2 ASAP.

Congrats to Spyderco, and good vibes to all those who've anticipated this reveal for years!

I'll need to handle one before I would consider buying, because it looks like a little too much going on along the spine for my taste. Plus, the C36 Military gave me my first experience with a liner lock, and still boasts my favorite version of said feature. If the Military 2's handle is slightly shorter, as it appears, for me that would be an enhancement. The OG's only feature I disliked was the clip location, so the new variant is a huge improvement in that regard.

Good observation. I hadn’t noticed the clip change on the new version until just now—but that’s nice to have. (Not that tip-down on the OG Millie ever bothered me too much at all).
