I’m married to a professional landscaper . No rest for the wicked . We have a truck load brought in every year and rotate placement. Next year will be big islands to mulch . Dan

Last load I brought in were 2 scoops of rocks for a pad for me to drop my condenser units. It was a lot of shoveling but it always looks great when complete. By the way, the Tacoma can handle a scoop of rocks in the back. Just go slow....

Just left it natural. Pine straw goes up against it the timbers. Down here in the South you don't want to use mulch. Even cypress can create a haven for ants. Ants and termites are a big problem. The rocks around the units help keep them clean with rain. Instead of mud and debris splashing on them it is mostly water that splashes back up.

I never thought about climate and mulching but makes sense . We are changing out A/C and furnace this year . I’m waiting on quote for concrete in front of garage . Putting in a water drainage grate in front on doors to redirect water to behind garage . Concrete will be 6 inch thick . Dan

Almost done with mulch . Rain this afternoon and then business came in to power spray porches and deck to stain, stopped finishing. Only have between deck and house to finish up . Dan

Holy cow Dan! You and your wife have done an excellent job with that yard. Looks great! Grass is amazing and the islands look awesome!

You still get around very good physically. It shows.

Thank you , I was able to use my SXS Polaris for some of it in the front yard but had to wheel barrel quite a bit . I try to work in yard everyday and I walk as much as weather allows . Dan

This is a topic I can relate to! After being away at work all week, my trusty garden tractor awaits...and a wheel barrow that needs a replacement tire.

I have a no flat tire on my wheel barrel , so I can’t use flat tire as an excuse . We actually were using two to speed up the job . Of course everything was uphill when loaded .Fun ! Dan

I had to drill a couple of holes for a new wheel mount, and when I lifted the drill out of the newly drilled hole the bit dropped out of the chuck and fell through a gap in my porch so slick that I couldn't do that once in a thousand years if I tried . Still had another hole to drill so back to the hardware store. Of course there's no easily accessible way to get the lost bit back... only me!

When I was just out of high school in the winter for a couple years I worked at a Chevy dealership doing some mechanical jobs and picking up and delivering cars . A brand new Chevy Impala had a rattle in the passenger door . I took inside door panel off and found a nut attached to a wire . So the nut would swing and hit the panels inside when turning. There was a noted attached to that said, “ How long did it take for you to find this nut ? “ A gift from the UAW on the assembly line. Dan
