early '90s ladybug was my first knife. i was so happy to find it again after years of not knowing if i still had it.

This stainless handle Delica 4 from around 2006-2008 (I think).

Anybody know how to date the molded clip Endura or Rescue? I think both could be late 80s but also early 90s.

There are a couple Workers that could be in the running but I'm not sure. One is Zowada Damascus but not from the evolution set. I still think that would place it around 90-91.

The strongest contender to the Economy is a Worker stamped Gin1 which was mid to later 80s if I remember correctly. I feel like the no steel designation was first, then G2, and then Gin1.

If anyone has any insight into dating the 4 knifes mentioned above I'd love to hear it.

The G-2 steel stamp was used from around 1991 to 1993 and was replaced by the GIN-1 stamp around 1994. At least, that's what Spydiewiki says.

Like Sal said, the lightweights didn't come out until the early 90s. If you can post pictures of the clip fron the top and side so he can see the width and thickness, Sal might be able to at least tell you which mold change it is.

It's the ATS-55 Endura from the late 90s for me.

I got these Delica’s back in ‘93 or ‘94 along with a single angle Sharpmaker. Both are G2 steel.

The PE Delica lost its clip after snagging it on the bedroom doorway striker plate too many times. I saved the knife and after moving to Colorado years later I had Spyderco replace the stub with a metal clip.

If those 4 are all early to mid 90s that means the Economy is definitely the oldest by far. I'll have to look around a bit more but I think that's the only one I have from the 80s.

This is my first Spyderco. It was in my pocket in high school 1988.

This is my oldest I acquired a few years ago. About 1983.

Thank You - It was great seeing some of the earlier Spydercos !

And Sal - No Number on my Terzoula in the picture, but if I remember correctly, this particular Terzuola was returned to Spyderco because the liner lock was not functioning correctly, and Spyderco had to replace the blade in order to get the liner lock to function properly. I was told at the time it was the last Terzuola blade that they had in the parts inventory.

Where were the serial numbers located on the early C-15 Terzuola's ?

I will have to find my 2nd C-15 Terzuola to see if it is serialized ... it is in one of my bug-out bags in one of my vehicles, I have Spydercos everywhere !

The C15 Terzuola was my 2nd Spyderco, C36 original Military in CPM 440V was my first.

Hi NASA, the serial number is located on the presentation side of the blade, just in front of (toward the tip) the Spydiehole. The Terzuola was the 2nd or 3rd Spydie I purchased. Maybe the 4th. The C01S Worker was the 1st.

Mine is an AUS-8 Serrated Delica w/ molded clip. Bought 25 years ago from REI. Used to carry it rock climbing.

These are my oldest Spydercos. I bought these two (Delica and Endura) at the same time at the Valley Indoor Swapmeet in So Cal. I believe the year was 1991.

I'm proud to say both molded clips are still in tact.

Hi Xplorer,

Very nice examples of the first generation FRN Clipits. I designed them on an airplane flying from Hawaii to Denver. The "humps" at the pivot was to provide purchase for your index finger to learn how to open the knife with one hand.

I purchased my first Spyderco while I was visiting Germany in August 2000. It’s a Japanese-made Native II all-stainless steel with an AUS-10 CombinationEdge blade. Still works great. Thin but a bit on the heavier side due to it being all-stainless steel.
