I'm fairly certain at this point that the Crucarta PM2 will be my next Spyderco. I've got three Spydies wearing Micarta (Para 3, Shaman, Stretch), and the Shaman has the nicest finish straight from the factory - the aftermarket stuff just isn't quite as good. Can't wait for it!

I love the Micarta on my Z-carta. It just doesn't compare to the aftermarket scales, even terotuf. Spyderco has mastered the micarta game IMHO.

U.S. price hasn't changed yet since its reveal in January 2021:
MSRP: $245.00
MAP: $171.50

I talked to the peeps at the SFO today and they've seen neither hide nor hair of the PM 2 Cruwear/Micarta knives yet. (and they're made about 200 feet away from them) ;)

That may not be the best news, but at least it's something. Thanks Pokey!

That's a relief, $171.50 is a good price already considering we are getting Micarta scales and full liners, on top of the steel. Compare that to the DLT PM2 Cruwear that I got for $182 last year. Hoping that the MAP and MSRP stays the same.

Hopefully, it’s released this year before possible MSRP/MAP price increases come January 1, 2022. Based on past experience, those who pre-ordered have locked in the price. This is a regular production item not a Sprint/Exclusive.

I agree, it's a great price for the knife if it turns out like the Shaman did. I'm not a huge PM2 guy, but this would be tough to pass on. I likely won't be in the initial drop rush, but eventually. Especially considering it's supposed to become a production model.

Yeah I hope prices stay still for you yankees. I have no idea why it jumped $50 up north here. Disheartening for sure.

I did not know of any price increase; what site is that and how much is the current projected price?
Warriors and Wonders, based in Canada. Current price is $269.99 CAD, which works out to roughly $215 USD.
Still $171.50 US on pre-order from Knifecenter

Has there been any update on the CPM-Cruwear PM2 with micarta scales and when that is going to be available?

A Spyderco dealer states: “Estimated In-Stock: 09/06/2021”.
Which dealer stated this, RamZar?

MidwayUSA. Now, it says: "Estimated In-Stock: Overdue".

Got another reminder from KC today that my preorder is still in process, this is the like 14th time I got excited and disappointed by seeing the email. Who knows if I'm even under the cutoff of the preorders that'll actually get the dam thing anyway.

One question I have for yinz is do you think the brown micarta on these will be like that on the Shaman, etc.? I'm a little worried by the way it looked almost reddish/burnt umber in the clips we've seen so far, especially where it had absorbed some oil. I'm hoping it will basically be exactly the color on the promo pics, which I like a lot. Anyone with experience re: the other Spyderco micarta brown handles, how have the looked and worn in over time? Do they keep that nice tan/lighter brown shade, or go reddish/chocolate brown on you after much use?

Brand new Z Wear from this year's release and the Cruwear version from a year or two ago. Never oiled, just naturally worn in from my greasy Italian hands haha! Looks and feels MUCH better now than the brand new one.

You'll have to make it a safe queen if you like the natural look...but what's the point, or fun in that?

I've done the long pre-order thing many times. I don't even pay attention to those emails anymore. You'll likely know they're dropping at other dealers long before you receive an email from KC that your pre-order has actually shipped

If you're not absolutely sure you got on the pre-order list really early, when the knife starts to drop you should look for it to be available from other dealers (watch this thread). If you find one available then buy it and cancel your pre-order from KC if it's not too late. Worst that can happen is you end up with two. Then you either have a back up or one to use as trade bait. Good thing about this one is it's going to be a regular production item. So there should be more than one run. Subsequent runs might tough to wait for though

Hard to say on the color. I don't really trust promo pics anymore. Got burned on the color thing a few times. I'll say that if the micarta came from the same source and color batch I would think it'll be the same as the Cruwear Shaman. But wasn't the Z-wear Shaman a little different in color? If so, it might be closer to that. Or it could be different yet again. Probably best to just wait and see

I definitely don't get knives not to use them, and one of my favorite things about micarta is that it changes, and takes on something of the person who holds it. I am also a picky little baby when it comes to colors and aesthetics, so was curious if I might want to try dying them a slightly different color or something if they do turn out to be less attractive to me personally. I think I like the lighter tan color on the left more, but we'll see what it's like in person soon enough I suppose.

Sharp Guy - I put it in the day after the announcement, but seeing as BHQ was already queued up by that point I'm a little skeptical I got in under the wire. Then again, people have been cancelling theirs, so who can say. Your suggestion is probably the safest route, and one I'll likely take unless I find out differently the moment it drops. Thanks both for the replies!

Nested liners VS full liners
