Nice pins!
Where did you get that multi-color one?
I have some frog design pins on the way (for a gift knife) but I've only used the geometric patterns before, and not very often.

As someone looking for their first fixed blade spyderco, this excites me greatly.

Hey, everyone:
In anticipation of the Mule Team relaunch, I am creating a new area of the forum that will be devoted to Mule Teams. The area is set up, but it's not visible yet as I'm still moving all of the relevant threads to the new area. It will be obvious when I make it live for everyone.

Hang in there!
Kristi
Nice idea. And the work to move related threads there is appreciated.

When should we expect the S45VN and SPY27 to come out?
I see now that handles and sheaths are available on the site also, so would by the complete package.

It would be great to see a Mule Team with
Uddeholm's Vanax SuperClean steel. It's very corossion resistant and it would be good to compare it to H-1 and LC200N.

I'd love to see Vanax. And Rex 121. And 15v. And my list goes on...

Sal has talked about using a mule team proto in Vanax not long ago. He also has a Sage LW in Rex-121 so they might do a mule with that too.

Hi Josh,
Welcome to our forum.
We have no plans at this time to use Vanax. We may in the future, but it would probably be a Mule Team to see reaction to the materials. I have a Vanax Mule Team (proto) in my kitchen that I use regularly. I'm familiar with the material.

You going to start putting mosaic pins in those purdy kitchen knives you're making?

No problem it’s what we do.
Have some good Australian hardwoods so if you are ever in need of a bit.
Let me know as have some good places to buy and source beautiful wood.
Most is that hard it doesn’t need to be stabilised......
(and I always buy a few sets, so have sets and blocks spare all the time)
Happy to swap some wood anytime.

I sure hope more than 600 are made in these new steels or perhaps a second run if sold out quickly. Surely Forum feedback could guage demand. $50 for SPY27 is a great deal!
I can't remember my priciest Mule, but most were more than that.

The last Mule Team released was MT27 (PD1) in October 2017. About 3 were being released annually until then with most around $70. By far the most expensive one was MT24 (Maxamet) from August 2016 for $109.95.

I actually bought some Ringed Gidgee (and had it shipped from Australia) to play with. I've been looking at some interesting Aussie Burls, but there are so many that I know nothing about. What do you like (aside from the Ringed Gidgee, which I already have a bit of)?
I found a USA source for Red River Gum, Bimble Box, Red Box, Brown Mallee, Coolibah and Yellow Box, but I know absolutely nothing about any of them. I was thinking of getting some to stabilize, but I have a lot of other projects going, and I'm not even sure where to start with those woods.
I have some extra Desert Ironwood, if you want some. If you haven't used it, it's an experience. I can't believe how fast it clogs sanding belts.
