Ehhh....
Haha.. yeah me too :)
Yeah, it occurred to me that the color may have simply come out too close to the two other blue manix lightweights, and they decided it was silly to have 3 nearly identical blue models in the lineup. So instead of releasing a "close enough to cobalt blue" color, they decided to change things up.

Well, this explanation about the different coloring at least indirectly confirms that FRCP IS indeed different to Golden FRN - some people were of the opinion that those two were actually the exact same.
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Made worse by the fact that some of the Manix LW box labels were recently calling it FRN.

Yes, that´s a bit weird...the Manix 2 LW just can´t be FRN following the different-coloring-explanation, since they CAN make Golden FRN cobalt blue (Native 5 LW for example).

Waiting for my pre-order from KC. If that doesn't come through I'll order from someone else, though. I have no problem getting two of these right off the bat.

And lol. 30 seconds after I posted this I got a shipment notification from KC on a pre-order...but it wasn't this one.

Ooh! I love that new color! I was planning on picking one up anyways, but now I'm really looking forward to it because its so unique! I like the cobalt blue, but its so close to so many of the other blues. I really like teal, so I'm digging it!!

Does that complexity decrease the simplicity? Not at all.

so the actual colour looks like a blue, whereas the stock photo is more of a teal, and previous ones called teal (dragonfly, native 5, endura) are actually turqouise-ish :)

Same here! I was kind of turned off by the stock photo, but if they're more like Northwest's example, it might not be too bad.

You're providing a great service here, sir! Hahah, I'm sitting this model out, but still, I don't want you to think your "heads up" posts go unnoticed.. I've definitely snagged a knife or two early because of you. So thank you! :)

This is regular production, right? I can only buy after I get the pink Delica!

That looks completely different from the Spyderco catalog picture.

I like it, though!

I was hoping, and getting use to the idea of it coming in the more teal color. As seen in some pictures. I thought adding yet another blue lightweight to the history books, was odd. How many is this now, four? (BD1, BD1N, S110V, SPY 27 . . . )

I like the new color, but don't think I'll get another Manix 2 LW until I work out the process for drilling out the rivets and replacing them with screws.

Much better than the advertised new color!

Did they finally get the coloring right for their FRCP? Is it a one-off or a running change during production?

Either way, this one is much better.
