yeah I'm surprised none of the Native family has got the 52100/PPCF treatment yet
the Chief should be the first

I'd like to get something in 52100, but I don't love the pairing with carbon fiber. Black g10, a unique g10 color, or any micarta would make more sense to me. Black micarta (not polished) would be cool.

Also I'd want it at high hardness. There have a few steels recently that are supposed to rival 52100's prized edge stability, but most are sub 60 hrc, low allow stainless steels.

Give me 62-64 hrc 52100 without carbon fiber and I'm all over it

I am pretty vocal about the 52100 Millie being my favorite Spydie and I would love to have a fixed blade as a nice companion piece. A Bushcraft would be pretty cool.
This is pretty much one of my dream knives. It would be great to see this.

Black Micarta -- yes that would work really well.

I just came to the forum tonight to start a thread about high carbon Natives.

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!

52100 would be amazing, and how about we throw in a super blue Native to boot?

I’d really like to see some tougher steels offered in full serrated edge, especially the larger models.

I'd welcome this, too...

52100 is an underrated steel for knives. When heat treated well it has nicely homogenous grain structure with ultra-fine carbides whilst still being tough as nails. I can get my 52100 PM2 to scary sharp in no time and I love its patina.

I would absolutely love this. I think spyderco is weary to use it because of the corrosion, and potential lack of interest. I just got a 52100 Millie off eBay and glad I did. My 52100 para 2 is my favorite edc knife for sure. I love that I can use cool natural Arkansas stones, and regrinding the bevels thinner is a breeze.

The stainless San mai steels they offer are great too! The nilakka, puukko, or street beat are great ideas for a platform. Maybe something in regular production so I can use it hard. 52100 seems like a great steel for full serrations.

Once I get a UKPK I’ll be working on a reblade out of 52100. A 52100/ peel ply CF just feels right.

Reviving an old topic, any new ideas or stuff to add?

Other than being inexpensive to manufacture, I don't see what 52100 offers that Cruwear or even LC200N don't do a lot better.

Yes. Love 52100. TiCN coated 52100 Seki models would be instabuys!

there's been an Exclusive Manix in 52100, gray G-10 with DLC blade

I'm pretty sure Rick @TkoK83Spy has one

Sounds familiar; I thought I had seen one somewhere. I wish they'd do an uncoated LW Manix.

Wholeheartedly agree on a 52100 Enuff 2. Easier to keep clean than a folder and a solid steel for that application. :preying

Most definitely. I'd love to see 52100 as an option for value folders, but I hear that sourcing Chinese 52100 would be a problem, and importing wouldn't be feasible for the cost. It's a shame because a 52100 Tenacious/Polestar, or even an Astute would be sweet.

Otherwise, I'd be happy to see it in anything. Pie-in-tha-sky would be a Yojimbo, but the usual suspects like a Military or Native Chief seems great.

I won’t argue against 52100. Heck, I have a backup Military Model in it.

I would love to see 52100 in any of the below,

Para 3 lw, Native Chief, Native lw, Manix lw, Delica, Endela, Endura.

I understand why Spyderco would be leery about carbon steels, but there are few things they could do that would make me more interested in buying more of their knives than incorporating a larger number of carbon steels into their popular models, especially FRN handled models.

Unfortunately I don't think that the broader market really appreciates rust prone steels. The general sentiment I have seen among the average knife buyer is that if it rusts, then it is low quality, which we obviously know isn't true, but they don't, and most of them don't even know how to sharpen a knife either.

Carbon steels really seem to appeal to people who like to sharpen (relatively rare), and people who like to maintain their knives/fight corrosion (very rare).

Despite the many people who support the idea here, I don't know that we represent the majority of the market well because we are, after all, the knife nerds. Maybe with proper instruction included with carbon knives we could start a movement among the average population? Maybe Spyderco can lead the charge? If anyone can, it would be Spyderco, but I am betting the best we can expect is to get more sprint runs.

Cru-Wear could probably keep me pretty happy if they were to start using it in more models, but to answer the topics question,

More 52100?

Oh yeah, bring it on. That or any high carbon, as much as we can get!
