Very cool! I figured there was little chance the online sale would happen. Leave it to Spyderco to make it happen.

Did Spyderco post that on the forums? I feel like they should post that stuff here first.

Same here, Sharp Guy. I actually thought there was no chance. I am eager to see how this will work. Of course I will buy something if possible, it is a rare (one time?) opportunity.

I wonder how it will work with the in-person vs. online sales? Will being there in person offer any advantages, or will you be waiting in line, in the cold while everyone online is buying the best stuff from the warm comfort of their armchairs as they sip hot, spiced cider while wearing only their underwear?

Why did the Spyderco Facebook page and Instagram account post that there would be an online sale then?

I'd say wait a day or two for internal communications to catch up before getting too excited. So far, it sounds to me like someone jumped the gun, announcing it before Sal okayed it.

That would be my guess too, and I would feel bad if I had posted them. They sure looked like official posts.

Online sale will be so awesome, as Nov. 21 is my birthday so I can send my wife to the site on the 20th to pick up my B Day gift.

~2 weeks and still no option for reserving tickets for in person. The new restrictions in Colorado may mean this is postponed. Here in Larimer County the school system warned parents about retuning to at home learning as cases are on the rise

Two weeks out and still no information on the reservation system? That doesn't sound good to me.

Hey, everyone:
We are having an online Seconds Sale. It's important to note; the online Seconds Sale will not be concurrent with the in-person Seconds Sale. We haven't announced the date(s) for the online sale, but we'll release more information as soon as we can. As you know, it's something we've never done before (like most of 2020 ).

Shifting gears to the in-person Seconds Sale. We haven't announced the reservation system, yet. We're doing our measured best to ensure a safe event for everyone involved while adhering to all local policies. Some days, we're chasing a moving target. Thankfully, we've been pretty good at staying ahead of the target.

As all of you might guess, the Seconds Sale (both in-person and online) has been a challenging task this year as it's something that no one has ever done in this way before. We appreciate everyone's passion and interest. Hang in there; more to follow (for both).

If there's any company that can break from the norm, evolve and keep up with the challenging times, it's Spyderco. It's going to be a challenge but like we proponents to the Online Seconds sale have been saying for months - you can do it and we are here to support you all the way. It doesn't matter if people who had been at the physical sales had been so adamant about even thinking about holding the online sales at the other thread - in the end only Spyderco can determine what is possible and they decided it is possible. :D

Just because it hasn't been done before, doesn't mean it cannot be done. That's Spyderco for you. Good luck and God bless you all there at Golden for the preparations for the online sale! :)
