Delica and Endura,, even though I have really like my collection of Military since the mid 1990's and PM2 over the past few years.

Dragonfly in SE. It was my first Spydie and at the time the coolest and most unusual knife that I had seen.

It’s the delica for me as well if I had to pick one, but as others mentioned any time I see a hole in a blade I think spyderco. Also hawkbills and reverse s shaped blades particularly if fully serrated are quite iconic to me, the civilian is a hard one to forget.

I really think it should be an Endura, but a PM2 is what pops into my mind. I suppose anything with a Spyderhole is what many people visualize.

Stretch 1.

For me "the" best example for Spydercos "form follows function", and imho maybe Sals greatest design among his great designs (together with the Chaparral) ;)

The OP asked for a "there" knife, not a "here" knife.

My collection of Chinooks: three VG10 prototypes / test pieces; Gen 1 in CPM 440V -- PE and CE; Gen 2 in CPM S30V, also PE and CE. My first spyderco was / is a gently used and very rare early run of the VG10 version in PE, only 23 made / 19 released to the public and all are in very fine / excellent conditions -- most in the collection are NIB and all are Golden, CO creations.

Took a pass on both Gen 3 and Gen 4.

Delica. Really the first knife I saw that hit all the right chords
Lightweight, easy open, aggressive blade shape, great fit in the hand.
PM2 is a contender but I've been sporting Delicas since the mid 90's

Dragonfly 2, because I always carry one in addition to whatever other knife or knives are present. It is most often the one I reach for if appropriate to the task at hand.

Generally speaking, G10 Police4 or Resilience, my first two Spydies, which will always have a special place in my heart & my collection -- I'd never part with either for any amount of money. :)

Nah, brah. It's not about the knife, it's about the STYLE, it's about the ART.

When I say Lamborghini, will most people envision a Murciélago? A Huracán? A Trattori??? The marque brings to mind a sleek, low slung, mid-engine car with fancy doors. The exact model doesn't matter.

When I say Spyderco, most knife people will think of a long, skinny folder with a hole in the blade and an exaggerated thumb ramp that makes it look like a lurking crocodile.

Endura, Delica, Military, Police: They'll all variations of the same design philosophy.

SE SS Police and Delica. Those are the first two I recalled seeing for the first time in movies back in the ‘90s. Then in 1997 I bought my first Spyderco, an AUS-8 Delica. Because of that, the name Spyderco sometimes takes my mind back to the ‘90s.

I agree. The Native and Sage are my favorite models, but they don't have that look. When someone says "Spyderco" I think of the tall thumb ramp that's more of a radiused hump, and that long, straight, drop point that creates a triangular blade profile.

Another point we agree on, Warstein.*

This is why the ZDP-189 Stretch was my first Spyderco. Really seemed to showcase the ethos of the brand (not to mention some of the best features).

*Well, mostly. I like the Stretch 2 well enough.
