The Egyptian market sequence in "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" is a fun one:

For gun fights, there are many great scenes in several Michael Mann movies: "Heat", "Collateral", "Miami Vice"

The shootout following the bank heist in "Heat" is one of the all time greats. The audio in that scene on a properly setup surround sound system is incredible.

It's definitely not in the running with the classics, but I always got a kick out of the guys watching Gunny Highway (Clint Eastwood) after he decked the Swede in Heartbreak Ridge.

King Kong (1933): Kong vs T-Rex.

For a stop-motion sequence using inanimate figures, each with different body types, movements, "strategies" employed, and "personalities," this scene is absolutely astounding, especially considering the time period.

A montage of scenes from various films in the movie series featuring Zatoichi, the blind swordsman, starring the legendary Shintaro Katsu. My all-time favorite action movie character, as much for the character's personality, quirks, emotion and humor, as for his unconventional sword-fighting style.

Yes, Madam (1985). Starring Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock.

The action-comedy film Yes, Madam was one of Michelle Yeoh's earliest screen appearances, and the screen debut of American martial artist Cynthia Rothrock. IMO, it remains the most intense fight scene of either of their careers. Most Americans (and probably most westerners in general) who are familiar with Michelle Yeoh mostly know her for her work in films like Tomorrow Never Dies; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; or as the matriarch in Crazy Rich Asians. Here she shows what she could do in her youth. Note: Unlike her co-star, Michelle Yeoh was NOT a real-life martial artist but came from a dance background, which made her intensity in the scene doubly impressive.

The annoying thing about this scene are the parts showing John Sham (the frizzy-haired guy with the two swords), but once he's offscreen, he's easily forgotten:

The Big Gundown (AKA, La Resa Dei Conti, 1966). Starring Lee Van Cleef and Tomas Milian. Final duels.

The Big Gundown is my second-favorite western movie, after The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. This clip has no subtitles, but that's OK, because there isn't too much dialogue in this part, and it's pretty obvious what they're saying, anyway.

Police Story (1985), starring Jackie Chan, Brigitte Lin, Maggie Cheung, Fung Hak-On, etc.

I've always had mixed feelings about this movie, but the final mall fight is a classic. IMO, it's one of the best 'one man vs multiple opponents' fights in any movie. This level of difficulty could not be duplicated today. During the '80s, actual heavy contact and dangerous stunts by the actors themselves became the trend in Hong Kong action movies, and Jackie lead the way. Nobody, especially lead stars, did more dangerous stunt work as consistently as Jackie Chan. He and his stunt team always suffered injuries during filming. I chuckle a bit when some spoiled Hollywood A-listers boast about "doing their own stunts." None of the Hollywood stars could ever hold a candle to Jackie, who did it all without any CGI, during his peak era.

Unfortunately, this clip is missing the very end.

CGI blood. One of the worst things about the new fangled film technology. Ruins a movie imho. Coen Brother's True Grit? CGI blood. Imagine if Stanley Kubrick tried that in The Shining?
