What about a Swick?

No, I really want a more conventional knife that can comfortably whittle and cut an apple.
Swicks do those roles just fine :D

I see they’re kitchen knives, so I needn’t press the neck knife any further. I will say a 10” professional chef’s knife with a wide blade and decent edge holding steel would be something I’d buy, as a professional. Just sayin’. :)

Go to @cartercutlery on Instagram. 2 posts back you can see the entire set. Someone could screen grab those pics. I’m on my phone and it’s a pain or I’d do it.

Here is your photo-goodness from twitter, any guesses on blade steel? (I zoomed in, but the resolution is too low to read the text on the blade.)

Judging by the photos, there is some serious patina action going on there! I'd love to see these in LC200N; it would be nice to have a set of kitchen knives that would never rust.

These look like great kitchen knives, I just hope the pricing isn’t bonkers like most of their pricing has gone lately. I have a feeling these won’t be cheap.

So excited for Spyderco kitchen knives.

I like these and would use them, but there is no way in heck that I am going to let my wife near them or give them as gifts. Carbon steel like Superblue would be rusty and trashed instantly in the hands of non knife people.

I really would like to see a full set with a block in LC200N. Don't forget the slots for the Galley V stones to be stored in the block. I'd probably buy one for me, my parents and the inlaws.

Well I'm less excited about kitchen knives. I'd still be interested in a Spyderco/Carter neck knife colab.

Mine still likes to put them in dishwasher despite repeatedly lecturing her not to.
Maybe I'll get them for myself and Spyderco could through in a nice carrying case I could hide them on her. She also used a chaparral 2 tip as screwdriver. 🤣

Any pricing speculation? For that bad boy 9inch or so chef knife - $200?

I was hoping for a spoon collab to go with the spoon shaving video. :)

I actually swap out my kitchen knives when we have house guests. I can't imagine what I'd do if one of my good kitchen knives (I have a Phil Wilson and a Big Chris in there normally, as well as a TRC that I love) got run through the dishwasher.

I was hoping for Spyderco and Murray Carter to come up with a "Neck Knife Light Weight" that had FRN handle scales and laminated stainless steel blade in the 3.5 to 4 inch length :(

^^^This.

I sure hope Eric and/or Sal see this and take your suggestion (if they haven't already designed such a product). Normally, knife blocks are a terrible thing as they are breeding grounds for bacteria, but with LC200N being so easy to keep clean it shouldn't be an issue. If they made this, it would cause me to buy nice kitchen knives for the first time in my life.

I'm looking forward to their kitchen gear!

It honestly makes so much sense for them to do a collaboration for the high end. I've never tried a spyderco kitchen knife now, but this is showing how dedicated they are on the matter. And they're so pretty! That lamination line makes me smile

And they really should be serious considering the fact that most people use knives in the kitchen way more than outside of it.

I'm going to look at their low end knives though. I could use a pairing and utility knife.
