A 3” manix. Love the burly design, lock, etc but I just can’t carry mine very often. A legal one for my area would be awesome. The pm2 and manic are the flagships in my mind. We got the para3. I need a man 3.
A 3" Manix would be awesome for me too.
Isn't the Manix 2 a 2.9" cutting edge? You want one with .1" more edge?
Unfortunately the choil counts in the eyes of the law.

the blade measurement includes the choil up to the handle, so you end up with a 3.5” blade. i’m not sure why they don’t measure the cutting edge for legal purposes, but that’s the way it is and it makes the manix inaccessible for a lot of people.

that said, i’ve always thought the native was kind of a mini manix. i know there are significant differences, but it’s pretty close to what a sub-3” manix would be. close enough that i’m not sure it would make sense for spyderco to dedicate the necessary resources to making a new knife.

The original UKPK design with only one change...

AEB-L blade... :)
I’d go with that!

Oh ok, that makes sense.

I agree with you on the Native.

I'm curious what people asking for a mini-mini-manix think it would offer that a Native does not?

I honestly want to see more flipper's form Spyderco and creative "Wave" designs (definitely in luck this upcoming year), but also, I'd like to see them use more aluminum.

I swapped out my original pm2's scales with a pair of aluminum Flytanium, and it has just enhanced the feel beyond words. It felt capable before, but the slight addition in weight is confidence inspiring.

Another Nishijin sprint. The L'il Native or the Rhino would both be nice choices. I'm not sure how the Nishijin L'il Lum sold, though, so it might be a while before we see another one.

- Manix 2 (with liners) in m390, 20cv or 204p
- Manix XL in M4, CPM Cruwear, Rex 45, K390 or similar.
- A Chinook 1 rerun in M4, CPM Cruwear, or Rex 45, K390 or similar.

And that's it :)

Roland.

Delica featuring maximum cutting edge: That means:
Same handle (love the ergos); NO Ricasso; Blade extending all the way to the end of the handle when knife is closed.
That would be a Delica featuring almost the cutting edge of an Endura..

Yes please. Especially if run with DLC blades & liners.

Para 3 has had 500 sprint runs in two years, while the Manix XL had a single sprint IIRC.

I agree.
I will purchase just about any manix XL sprint.
I'd be all about od green g10, dlc coating, and m4 or cru wear.
But even pop the peel ply cf and 52100 on this and I'll pay up.

OD green scales & DLC blades is such a sexy combo.

I think the blade length laws are based on stab depth in a victim. Or so law enforcement would say.

I’m not a fan of the native. The choil is too long for such a small knife. Just doesn’t sit well with me. I like the manix blade shape and lock type more. There are lots of options with the back lock. Few for the cbbl.

Would a CBBL Native offer anything a backlock Native does not, besides a new lock type?

Oh yeah there are a lot of late 90s/early 2000s Spyderco features I would love to see return. The Micarta handles for instance I really miss. I would love a C-44 Dyad Sprint Run which originally came with a Micarta handle return with a pair of supersteel blades and Micarta scales. A Caly Jr Sprint with a Micarta handle would be really cool. The Spyderedged, AUS-8 blade model with the Micarta handle was about my all time favorite small folder ever.

I would like to see the return of the old TEMPERANCE 1 model>> mainly because it was one of the few Spyderco fixed blades you could get in Spyderedge and Plain Edge both. I really miss that model and the Spyderedged fixed blade both. I also loved the Blade-Tech sheath they made for that model as well.

Also there has been a huge abandonment of main line models available in Spyderedge>> they need more SE models offered.

In the absence of a choiled Delica ;) applying the 'no choil' feature from the Polestar to the Delica, where the cutting edge comes right back to the scales, may appeal to choilers and non choilers alike. :)

Wow! Thanks a lot for the hint, I honestly was not aware of the Mantra 1 (but oddly enough of the 2 and 3); In many ways very much to my liking, except too expensive, and I´d like to see it in lighter weight (FRN) and a backlock... wouldn´t be a Mantra anymore, admittedly
