Cruwear is always my first choice. But I would buy any top-tier steel - 3V, 4V, van4e, M4, 10V, PD1 (I know, Cruwear), but not vg10 or any other steel that needs frequent sharpening.

I opted for 'Other'. I'd like to see Spyderco shake things up a little and lead this product release with a LW FRN model in XHP or even BD1N. Backlock and wire clip of course. How about getting back to the Native's value-based roots, and bring it in at sub $125?

I voted 3V/4V, preferrably 3V as it's new to me.

My first choice is always lc200n, at least until vanax becomes affordable. Beyond that, k390, maxamet, 20cv, cruwear, and 4v would all be instant buys for me.
BRING ON THE MANIX XL SPRINTS AND EXCLUSIVES! And 10v or K390ify the Golden lineup, please.

I'd buy any model with 204p/m390/20cv preferably. Or S110v is also one of my favorites. Good wear and corrosion resistance please! I think this will be an awesome model in general. I hope it's on the horizon and not years away.

Not totally on spot concerning the topic, but could someone briefly explain to me in which aspects the chief is expeted to be different from the Shaman? Thinner bladestock? Backlock? FRN?

Probably...maybe a little longer blade too, and possibly FFG instead of saber grind? I don't think anyone here knows for sure, or has any idea when it will be released.
I'm eager to see what it turns out to be. :)

I would like to see Maxamet steel used in the next limited production run of the Native Chief. Fourteen different steels have been used to make the Native Chief to date, and I have one (reg blade) of each.

I did not answer the poll. The only thing missing from the poll is 10v, 3V(but we did get 4V, unless I am dreaming....have to find mine) and Maxamet. We missed out on 15V, but no worries, right now I'd really like to see MagnaMax and I'd buy a few.
I have all of them except for LC200n and BD1N, and a few where I have multiple copies(M390, S90V, ...???). It is a great folder. I did not want to miss out on any of them.
I hope that everyone bought multiple copies of whatever they voted for. Spyderco made your wish a reality!

I hardly know why I bother saying this because I am probably a small minority, but I want AEB-L in this knife or any of the other Spydercos I like really. Why? Because I am a simple guy who likes simple steel. That, and it sounds like Spyderco got a pretty killer heat treat on this steel for the mule. I wouldn't mind seeing AEB-L take over as the standard lightweight steel in BD1-N's place.

I voted "Other" to include MagnaMax. MagnaCut (G-10) would be nice too. I was disappointed we did not get a 15V Chief.
