Any leads on where this will be available. I got money to blow, before I spend it on something "I don't need"
The collector numbered knives often show up a week or two before the regular release. I bet we start seeing these very soon.

You guys realize that CF "Yojimbos" can be bought on Aliexpress ? Just saying (haven't seen that knife mentioned anywhere else but ebay) ...

I don't buy from aliexpress because I want authentic, legit steel that matches the tang marking, with a quality heat treat. That said, wanted to see what it was you're referring too there. No knife results when using Yojimbo as the keyword.
It's just as well, wouldn't of given them a nickel anyway.
Good place to see what's upcoming is here,

Ramzar does a great job, he's had number 15 listed for a while now on the "Upcoming" section

Lol, that is true, only for those who are good at reading :D
Some of us flunked lunch in high school.
In all seriousness I have read that so many times, and with all the different models, and not being sure if I would like the Yojimbo, it just never clicked.
However, I have been pricing CF scales from third parties for one of my PM2s, saw this today and realized that 2 +2=4. So there :)
PS, thank you for the info!

And I'm not trying to encourage you :) just expressing lack of trust in ebay sellers, without having seen an announcement of the knife in some store, as one usually does long before the release.

Hopefully Ramzar can chime in with a source for CF Yojimbo information.

Where did you read this, the Washington Post ? :)
BTW, in all seriousness and for the experts: what was the last Spyderco 20CV folder, or would this one be the first ?
Thanks,
Roland.

Really? Are you advocating for fakes on a Spyderco forum? Or am I simply reading your post wrong?

I think he’s actually just staying facts and is skeptics of the release since he hasn’t seen it anywhere else but ebay

On the fence with this one. Already have the S90V. This is such a great knife. CF with 20CV, these will probably go quickly.

**** that price is nuts. A full $60 more than the s90v version. I’m gonna pass at that price.

Looks nice but already have the last 2 exclusives that I hardly ever carry, taking a pass on this one.

Not a chance at that price. Shame too as I was looking forward to it. This year is becoming the worst buying year for me ever when it comes to Spyderco. Only 2 left for the whole year I would consider. Kind of sad, but the anticipation with what’s coming next is half the fun.

Has anyone seen this Yojimbo2 CPM-20CV CF JB Outman (USA) at a dealer other than DLT Trading (eBay excluded)?

I'm pretty sure we paid like $245 for the first S90V/CF version, the price isn't great but could be worse.

That was the KnifeWorks exclusive Yojimbo2 (CPM-S90V Steel, Peel Ply Carbon Fiber Handle, Plain Edge) for $229.95 shipped in Summer 2014.
This JB Outman distrbutor exclusive costs only $227.47!

Is the carbon fiber on this one the same as the Caly 3.5 ZDP? As in, glass smooth?

I obtained one of the OTS Yojimbo 2 CF 20CV and was surprised to find an obvious visible (and palpable) flaw. It appearead as a dark stripe on the front scale from the middle to the end, and also toward the pivot screw. Shifting the scale in hand made the contrast really "jump out," just like CF shimmers when shifted in the light. A fingertip or thumbtip can feel the depth and roughness of the stripe
It looks like one of the surfacing passes with an end mill had gone a bit deeper than the other passes, and was too deep to be removed when surface-ground to finish. Unlike with most factory-second Spydercos with flaws undiscoverable on close inspection, a non-knife friend spotted the stripe from ten feet away without prompting. The good news is the vendor will likely replace the knife, though I did have to pay ten bucks for the return.
My other Yo2 in this configuration has superb fit and finish. Exemplary.
Here are some pics of the problem child, as well as comparison pics of other CF and non-CF scales to try and get at least a visual reference of comparative smoothness incl. smooth G10.
Top to bottom, smooth CF Cricket, Yojimbo2 CF, PM2 with PP CF (154/S90V version):
T-to-B, Delica smooth CF, Yo2 CF (no stripe), PM2 PP CF
T-to-B, Native natural(jade) textured G10, Native smooth G10, Yo2 CF
For today's carry, (and with the upcoming Caly Jr sprint) I noticed one of my Calypso Jr FRNs was an oddball (two years out of sync). I'll have to check the Micartas to see if I have one similar, where one might not be surprised by a "transitional" such version.
kind regards,
a n.on
