I like the framelock, one of the few in my collection (and Spyderco's lineup). CTS-XHP is a favorite steel, but something exotic is always welcome. Would love to see handle scales in something more "natural" than the typical G10 or carbon fiber, maybe micarta or wood.

I'd likely echo a lot of what's been suggested already. Compression lock and wire clip for sure! A nice tan or khaki g10 for the scales. Drawing inspiration from the wooden scales on the original central african model. Steel wouldn't matter to me as much, but I think a nice carbon steel would fit the character and heritage of the knife well. Maybe M4 or 52100. Though, as I mentioned, Im not too selective about this.

Can't wait to see the outcome of this one!

I never got the chance to purchase one of the original, but have handled one a few times. My request would be for a framelock or even frame compression lock (ala ATR). As for the look my selfish preference is for a polished G-10 (green please!) with a deep carry wire clip.

I would like to see these fall around a pricepoint where I could enjoy purchasing one so steel choice may play a part in the bottom line, though I think the other ingredients already have this one pushing the MSRP of the original. For me HAP-40, CPM154 and Cruwear are at the head of my wish list.

Wire clip, titanium frame lock (orange peeled), green canvas Micarta scale with an orange G-10 liner, and CPM-154 blade steel @ 2.5 mm. Preferably made in Golden.

Wire clip. Back lock (or comp lock maybe, but I think I'd prefer a back lock). For a small precise knife like that I'd like a very wear resistant steel--maybe ZDP or Maxamet or K390.

To stay with the feel, wood or micarta would be awesome. Any polished g-10 (except black) would still be great.

Since it is a work knife, how about 4v? Or cruwear if still made in USA. Frankly s30v would be fine but probably cause a bit of grumbling.

And please keep the holes.

If there is not enough room for a back lock then compression would be my next choice. I enjoyed the slicey-ness of the Chokwe as well as its overall thinness. I do like liners though. I will probably buy one if other than in S30V. I have appx. 35 , maybe more S30V knives already and though I respect it and like it for a stainless steel I just can''t see spending the big bucks on one more.

I still want an Endura/Stretch sized lockback with a plain titanium frame and a nice tool steel. Maybe even Cruwear. That is the one that seems destined to elude me.

Loving my full-size Chokwe, and here's what I'd like to see in a smaller one:

Wire clip
Lc200n, s30v, or xhp steel (M390 or its equivalents might make it too pricey)
polished G10 or pakkawood handles
Compression lock

Shame, this with a backlock would've become a very popular edc for me.
Didn't really expect it though, the compression lock does seem to be the most popular lock around in general.

I find that compression lock on certain models can pinch flesh when locking up. My yojimbo 2 seems hungry for my flesh.
