I hope you caught some fish at least and your day wasn't a total disaster. :)

I also hope that you don't have a detachable penis!
Imagine loosing that on the beach? How fast would you have to be to beat the bloody Sea Gulls?

Saved for 2 years, clearly he sprung for a Darn Dao. The magnetic pull of the earthen core pulled the blade right from between the scales and out the bottom of the sheath. It's now wedged somewhere below the mantle of the earth, contributing to continental drift.

Warranties don't cover gravity, buyer beware!

Given that it's apparently a FB model that's been on the market for at least two years and if he bought it on Amazon there's a reasonable possibility that the knife had been purchased before, the G-clip had been moved and replaced poorly, the knife returned to Amazon and then resold to him.

I'd be more inclined to suspect an agenda here. Just checked one of my sheaths. Mine's from a Street Beat, so probably not the same knife, but Spyderco's plastic sheaths tend to be about the same thickness. At any rate, it took 7 full turns before one screw fell out and If both were even a half turn loose, the clip would wiggle and it would be obvious they were loose before mounting it on a belt.

It took 2 years to save enough to buy it? Then you didn't check the screws? Either a kid or a troll.

Very Tarzan of you :)

Remember the old Tarzan films with Weissmuller, where Tarzan would have a naked blade thrust through the waistband of his shorts? I always found that silly. I like how in the updated "Greystoke" he had the dagger in the sheath.

of all my Spyderco fixed blades, the only one I've had issues with is the Jumpmaster, with two troublesome screws on the sheath that had to be tightened every 3 weeks or every month.

But I learned to prevent them from unscrewing all the way putting an eye on them, and I've never lost any of the two in 2 1/2 years, including days carrying the knife in the outdoors, city or in the car sitting for hours

In the end is the user's responsibility to check and care for the knife's parts and pieces, IMO
