Can't wait to see it. I was drawing out how much of the blade to take off to match the slope of the chopped handle. Will be hard on such an elegant curve.

OK, here are pics. Last one includes a ruler so you can see the new measurements. Basically took about a quarter inch off both handle and blade.

That looks really nice. I like the size, and I like the lanyard hole delete.

Thanks Paul! Great design - really unique, and super functional while still having elegant, fluid lines. Can't wait to see more of your designs come to life man.

Thanks Paul. I was moderately excited about the design when I first saw it but after receiving my Sliverax and carrying it, I am truly impressed. It has exceeded my expectations.

Awesome. Considering that Paul mentioned it, almost like he planned and you executed the shortening

Yeah, I was realizing that was gonna seem a little weird. I have been contemplating that mod ever since getting the knife - I'm actually kind of addicted to chopping down knives, and have done way too many already, for better or worse. Seeing Paul mention it in his mod hit list got me really excited because it was on my mind beforehand, but also kinda weirded out knowing that it would seem kinda Paul-programmed if I actually did the mod.

Saying “bob the tip and handle” is the easy and oft said part of a mod like this (and a shorter Sliverax was also mentioned in the official thread). The difficulty comes in the execution...
DigDug should get the full credit on this one.

But I’m sure there’s a few more ways to skin this same cat and get a distinctly different result if anyone else wants to give it a shot.

Keep ‘em coming folks, and just to clarify, so far every poster has scored a sticker if they are inclined,

Here is what I've done so far.

Rounded off the corners on the handle around the lock access and added some grip tape to the spine.

That looks really neat! Nice work!

Should snag your brothers knife for some side by side photos.
(Wonder what it looks like next to a Position now...?)

Thanks SH! Yeah I’m planning on doing a ‘twin shot’ w/ my bro and his Sliverax - we’re identical twins so I’m figuring on milking that theme!
Planning on posting a Positron comparison pic later today for ya man.

Here's a comparison pic w/ my Positron (however, that one's also modded - butt is shorter and rounded off, and the tip is bobbed down a little too):

Nice shot. A bit of similarity in overall silhouette and tip location like I thought... Still not as small though.

The twins idea sounds pretty neat, I have cousins who are also twins (and also won some award at a twins festival as the hardest to tell apart), and coincidentally were also born on my birthday 2 years after I was.

Hey Digdug,
Are there any hot spots created with the clip being so close to the edge of the knife now?

The clip always created a minor hot spot (lukewarm spot?) for me before the mod, and after the mod it does feel a little more noticeable.
However, I have a 3rd part milled ti clip that I usually swap between my techno and positron, and have tried it successfully on the Sliverax. That clip removes that 'lukewarm spot' for me immediately, but I still find myself going back to the wire clip because it carries deeper. Hope that gives a sense of how minor the 'lukewarm spot' issue is.
