I wonder how many people will be upset when they find out that it is not as stainless as they say. "Composed of 3 percent carbon and 20 percent chromium, it’s also one of the most corrosion-resistant steels ever produced."

I'm still in, 100 people so far. Hopefully it will come down some, but I gotta get any and all Delica's, and at least this one looks pretty cool.....I'm not a big wharnie fan, but still preordered both of those ...I know, Im hopeless, my wife wishes I'd pass on a few too......I wonder, it said 250 required, does that mean if they can get 250 Spyderco will do the run....so it could possibly be a 1 in 250 ? Not sure how this works, 1st time dealing with Massdrop...personally not worried about rust since it'll just be collection piece and rarely get out of moisture controlled safe. :)

Yea, completely bogus.

I bought a bunch of stuff from Massdrop but that was long time ago. They are just never deals anymore. They have the Becker BK16 on there for more than Amazon has it listed. I am surprised that they are even selling knives if they can't cut the prices lower.
Agreed. I mean, if it featured textured CF or TI scales I could maybe rationalize to pay $200. But...

The $200 price is not surprising although I thought with a quantity of 1,000 it would be more like $150-$175.

Remember Spyderco Stretch2 with ZDP-189 and Brown G-10 also made in Japan is $210.

I would not characterize ZDP-189 as stainless steel which Massdrop has done. With that much carbon it stains easily without any coating or cladding. My Manbug ZDP got rust around the pivot in short order while exercising so I stopped carrying it. I wonder if that “Scratch” pattern coating affords any protection against corrosion.

I mentioned the corrosion resistance as being inaccurately described since it is not one of the most corrosion resistance steels, not by a long shot. For some, this is very misleading. That being said, I like the knife in some ways. Cool pattern, ZDP steel, Delica platform...all good things. The price really isn't that bad when you look at what Japanese Spydercos tend to go for. Also, if they don't all sell out quickly, you could see them bring them out again on their site at a slightly reduced price, but the odds are probably not too favorable. This being 1 of 1,000 means that it could be a good collectible down the line as it's a G-10 Delica sprint run and not just an FRN version.

I am not sure if you are in to collectibles. The knife is beautiful. If you are, then it is a great piece to grab. If
you want a functioning knife then there are a **** of a lot of options available.

It looks like a fake.

Aren't all the logos on the black blades white?

I don't have the knife in front of me but, IIRC, the logo on my black PM2 is like a gold color.

I'm looking at $200 for this one and $128 for a Caly 3 in Hap40- I'll go for the caly. If this one came down in price I'd consider it but it is not worth it for me just for G10

Due to a clerical error, Massdrop just announced a price drop from $200 to $169.99 for this knife. Great news for those on the fence about this one. It's still a tad high but easier to stomach at this price.

^ That's a little closer to what I thought it would be. I'm still not in on this one but some folks will be happy.

Price drop to $169. Some accounting error somewhere.

It is an improvement for sure. If more people join in the Massdrop the price should go down even further. Hey, what can I say I'm a Spyderco fan and a sucker for Sprint runs.

Looks interesting, but still on the expensive side, especially when you can get a Ti handle with Damascus blade for $156.

Seems this massdrop has been cancelled for now. Not enough orders.
