I hate hearing this, especially with my cruwear Para 2 on it's way from the US. I've had one order refused at the border, but somehow they just sent it back to the dealer. It's really frustrating knowing that a perfectly legal knife that can be purchased in Canada can be denied by a custom agents judgement, even after all the work that Sal and Spyderco have gone through.

Our time with the Crown clearly demonstrated that they really didn't want a clear law. We had an attorney, sent numerous samples. Even when we made a sample so tight that no one could open it with a flick, they opened the blade half way using the hole and then flicked it.

I would just like to say thank you to you and your team for taking the time and spending the money to try and do something about this.

Lifetime customer right here. You make nice knives, but it's stuff like this that does it for me.

That sucks. Unfortunately this is what happens when the gov't rules over the people instead of the other way around. This is why we need to take our gov't back before they do it to us here. Signed "A Deplorable". ;)

There are plenty of states with worse knife laws than Canada. Worse gun laws too.

As they say, "freedom isn't free".
Can you call or write to your local representative and make a stink about it?
If enough voting citizens complain, then maybe something gets done.
Otherwise, bored sub-urban lawmakers need to make a show of being hard on crime and propose stupid laws. At least that is how things happen in USA. I always though Canada was better than that.
Or the knife community need a better lobby. It wouldn't surprise me if there are areas in USA that have more strict knife laws than gun laws because of lobbying.
Sorry to hear about your troubles at the border.

I agree with you 100%; that was my point. We are also sliding down that slippery slope. Why I live in the south.

I see. But I thought more and more states were receiving looser knife laws lately thanks to organizations like knife rights.

That said, and all politics aside.
Just to clarify one important point: An EU-wide knife law does not exist! Each country within EU has it's own knife law and all knife laws are different! From liberal (like Austria) to restricted (like Great Britain).

Don't give up though guys.
The laws were really strict in Australia (no flippers or knives which can be wrist flicked open)but last year they officially relaxed the laws.
I believe Sal and a local distributor, Zen Imports, had a lot to do with it.

Think again, America is already Amerikwa. Cuckdeau is your first big mouthful, we've had our faces rubbed in smug liberal moralizing for some time now.

Bad luck, indeed.

It's so infuriating that they won't just look online to see these items sold by domestic retailers. Typical beaurocrats - always looking to extend their powers to justify their existence.

Thank you for the clarification. I had made the illogical jump that the knife laws in the UK extended to
the rest of the EU. Thanks again.

I had an FRN Caly 3 and Atlantic Salt confiscated once.

There's plenty of dealers inside the country, Warriors and Wonders (or Blades Canada as I like to call it, the URL works) has an amazing sale running right now.
I actually went and bought a bunch of gear bags from the U.S. last month (Maxpedition clearance sale), it cost me about $130 to ship everything and in the end it was basically break even from what I would have paid buying from Blades Canada.
I did get slightly better selection but I still felt really silly.
